Title: valve service,ect
Post by: tapps on March 18, 2017, 09:25:48 PM
i was pre-warned 5 years ago when i purchased the gtr that the valve service would cost approx £700,depending on the labour involved,
considering what was actually done, i think i done ok
a pal told me that the valve service shouldn't need doing, how wrong was he.
here's a list of what was done.

EXCHANGE 5 VALVE SHIMS
AIR/OIL FILTER
FINAL DRIVE OIL
SILKOLENE PRO 4-10W/40 OIL
SPARK PLUGS
ANTI-FREEZE
2 PIRELLI ANGEL GT'S.

£700 at main Stealer or a good independent should be a lot. Less , if you strip off all the bodywork before you take it in it should save a fair bit off the bill , plus oil diff and filters are easy to do your self , ,,

If tyres included. Very good price. Good choice of tyres too.

it was £700 plus the tyre's.as for stripping the plastic off myself thats a no no, i would mess it up.i'd rather leave it to them who know what they're doing.i'm not that confident.when i saw it in bit's in the workshop i thought rather him than me.i know it's a lot of money, but it's gotta be right.

I'm good at taking things apart...getting them back together again can be an issue.  Don't blame you for letting them do it.
