Title: Lost it already (key)
Post by: Kylinski on March 13, 2017, 10:08:10 AM
First time I've taken bike to work. Fitted top box ( that was an ordeal in itself, box would not click into place). Put work bag in box, nice sunny ride into work. Arrived, got fob out to remove small key to in lock box . . . No key!! ARGH! Key must have fallen out of box while riding.

Returned home, hoped there was a spare. Relief, there was one. Back to work. Proper peed off!

Can I get a replacement from Kawasaki?

Spare keys can be cut at most good key bars

I suggest you get yourself a couple done as spares

Use the small emergency key that you have

And next time be more careful or you will be sent to the naughty step    :mfr_lol:

The ignition switch is like a stove switch. Turn to the right and ignition comes on  turn further to the right and ignition goes off and you can pull switch out and there is a key beneath it.

I really should sit down and read the manual.

I'd just get a spare key cut for a £5 rather than risking damaging the stove key.

I recently bought a spare fob key and a spare cooker knob £29.95 the pair.  Just a word of advice; there are 2 sorts of keys known as A and B.  You can tell which one is correct by looking at the part number on the cooker knob.  The number on it will start with either A or B...

Dealer e mailed me back. £12 for a replacement. I presume that's just the 'blank'?

It could be a blank. Just take your key to a decent key cutting place and they'll match the key style and cut you a new one.
