Really sad. I met him and had a chat about a year ago, down at Sammer Miller's place. A real gentleman. Such a shame that he was never knighted despite lots of pressure

Last of the gentlemen racers.
R.I.P
RIP.....Makes you think, of the riders/drivers out there today, who could match some of the greats from yesteryear...
Ice.
That would be a very small number.
A few biking legends have tried there hand at 4 wheel competition, but with little success ,
I recall Rossi participating in a Rally of some kind and I think he crashed out
Rossi has done some car rallies with success. He won one at xmas.
Michael Schumacher had a guest ride on a Ducati (http://www.motorcyclenews.com/sport/motogp/2007/november/nov0507michaelschumacherstunsinducati800motogpride/) and Rossi tested at Ferrari (http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/348007/rossi-came-very-close-to-formula-1-drive/) back in 204 but I think its doubtful we will ever see anyone repeat Johns success
RIP the fastest gentleman on Earth.
