Ok so I've got a Gen 1 and I'm not going to mention anything that may already have been changed (if I can help it)
So in no particular order lets kick off and see what others add to the list/comment on
1) A Bigger Fuel Tank (min 26 litres)
2) Squarer Mirrors . I know they were raised for the Gen 2 but IMHO the upwards sweep whilst looking nice creates a missing spot. (Compare with the mirrors on the ST1100 or the GTR1000)
3) Hazard lights that operate with ignition off
4) A Proper fuel low level light instead of the annoying big message (Ok Ok I know you can cancel it but unless you've fitted the Bypass mod you lose the range functionality when you possibly need it most). Actually a proper fuel tap would be nicer, always did prefer those.
5) Tyre Pressure Monitors with self charging batteries (think watches)
6) Larger Capacity Panniers (possibly expandable like some BMWs?)
7) A "cycle' Option on the dash display so it goes through each of the available screens every X second
8) Mirror mounted Indicators
9) LED/HID headlight
10) Almost didnt add this as not strictly necessary but I like, Switchback DRL/Indicators
Do away with the physical TPS altogether.
My car has TPS that works by monitoring the wheel RPM. As soon as it fluctuates, there's a notification for tyre pressures to be adjusted.

Wonder how that would work on a bike where the tyre wear is quicker than on your typical car ? Wonder if it would create too many false positives?
Nice thought though :)

iTPMS are, compared to dTPMS, more sensitive to the influences of different tires and external influences like road surfaces and driving speed or style.
Yes junk tps it's nuisance.
Fit perelli Angels as standard.
I like TPMS
I thought there wasn't going to be a next generation?
When I bought mine in Dec the dealer said it's going to be discontinued.

Correct..there isn't.
The bike doesn't meet Euro 4 emissions requirements
I have been recently told by a Kawasaki dealer that the gtr continues and will be available! So who knows. TPMs good way of getting more money out of us. Mind you very Google if you have michelins.
Good not Google.

Again...correct :mfr_lol:
I don't know if I like TPS or not, I bought the bike with both batteries low :undecided: What about TPS with the battery accessible from the outside?

My blood bike group has just approached Kawasaki UK to try and buy another Ex police demo GTR but there are none available. No problem at all to supply us a new one but the purchase price plus adapting it for our use is too strong. Yamaha are currently supplying a dedicated blood bike so we have a new FJR 1300 on order.
So they are still selling GTR's but are they pre reg's
A comfy seat.
TPS sensors that self charge.
SiSFs EVO flash as standard.
Decent tyres fitted OEM.
No linked brakes, or the ability to fully deactivate them.
I was told they are still available brand new not a pre reg.
After playing with the fairing panels to gain access under the glove box, I'd like to see easier panel removal on the next generation, if there is going to be one.

to which I'm sure many people would add:
Easier access to service items such as spark plugs & air filters :)
How much do you want to Pay??, the preferences are many but would you be willing to pay a premium for them. Me personally i would not pay over £14k for any bike.
The next GTR will be a 1000cc supercharged due 2018.

Much the same as I had heard from a couple of dealers as I was shopping round. It seems that in future your Kawasaki will be one of three sub-brands; Ninja, Z or Versys.
The GTR is being "rolled through" 2017 which I am guessing means shifting any existing stock, the process is probably speeded up by the dealers pre-registering and offering deals like the one I picked up on.
Is it gone for good? Well they have managed to make the ZZR1400 compliant to the latest emissions standards and I would have thought that there was enough in common with the two engines and fuelling systems to be able to achieve the same with the GTR. Perhaps the problem is with the exhaust / catalyst. If so maybe there could be a twin pipe system fitted to the GTR which is the one thing I would really like - more for cosmetic reasons than any other.
It was emissions standards that killed off one of my other bikes, the Suzuki GSX1400. Owing to the Euro * regulation name there was a bit of EU bashing that went on in the GSX forum, but it was not Brussels but the USA standards that were too challenging and did for it in the end. In spite of what some people think I'm afraid that even outside the EU we will still be affected by the regulations in the world's biggest market places.

There's no fun in that. I like taking things apart.
I think the gtr already has a replacement. It is called the Versys 1000.

Jim, you're more than welcome to come over and take my wheels apart. I'd prefer to just get on and ride :biker3:
The ZZR sells at least 3 to 1 over the GTR so worth it to big K to make compliant, plus they need a real world flagship bike(dont count the H2/H2R/H2RR/H2RRS/H2R LE as these are just vanity products like Honda used to do just cos they could)

That amazes me.
I hated the riding position when I test rode the ZZR.
I couldn't hang on over 80 because my jacket became a parachute!

I did mine at tire change intervals. Had my tire guy remove the tire, then I fixed the sensor and then got him to mount a new tire. It's not a bad job with the tire off. I think the jury is still out on the longevity of the new sensors.
The only thing on my wish list: CRUISE CONTROL.
Cheers

Greater colour choice, including the best colour EVER - black
(I missed out on black by one year )

I wouldn't mind a bet that somewhere in the Kawasaki design studio there is a half formed sketch of a Versys with bigger displacement, a shaft and some heavy duty touring luggage.......
BMW badge. :mfr_lol:
Not to worry, it will come back around.
Would love to see higher screen and a bit wider, cruise control, maybe flip down cruiser pegs, Bluetooth stereo , and smaller exhaust.
Was told at excel show by a tech to keep an eye out in 2018 , excuse was, had all the Zeds and versys to get through euro 4 now they can consentrate on the GTR. ZZR was already euro 4 .
Any ways I love my 2016 Euro3 GT , what's it gona be like with only half the emissions probably a 1 peice exhaust system. No thanks love me ackro.
