I love my 2011 1400GTR except that I find the throttle jerky at lows revs, especially in first gear. This makes riding in slow traffic irratating. The throttle seems to jump from no power to power (as if its either on or off) instead of a smooth take up.
The USA owners club has pointed me to a solution whereby the EMU is modified with a flash, but being in Cape Town the supplier is not interested in helping me.
Does anyone know of a solution here? I go to the UK often so a supplier there would work.
To be honest buddies just rely on a wee bit of clutch slip and a smooth wrist action.
It's a side effect of fuel injection and dry inlets etc the jerry throttle .. a deposit cat and ecu refashioned would stop it .. but my opinion is using a mallet to cracking a easter Egg
I might be barking up the wrong tree .BUT I'm sure I read somewhere if u switch on ignition and leave engine off and twist the throttle twice slowly to the fully open position before starting this resets something to do with the throttle shafts /ecu ....can someone confirm this please
Kenny
Right from new I had that and after a year I had the ECU remapped at Hilltop Motorcycles in Leicester and it has made a massive difference, smoother and more power all the way up the range.

There is a simple "throttle position sensor" reset trick, as shown here:

Hope that helps

correctamundo, this is worth trying first, it's an option that has been proven to work and its a free fix
EDIT: well done Paul
Further thought....check that your tickover/idle speed is set correctly, mines at about 1100 rpm
Make sure that the cables are adjusted correctly, check the idle speed, or you can try a throttle tamer...
Wow! Resetting the throttle really works! Its made a huge difference - the bike is now as it should be. And its easy to do with no cost. Many, many thanks guys.
