Title: Blanking plate/grommet
Post by: StickyOne on February 12, 2017, 12:36:41 PM
I want to do something similar to one of the recent posts and fit the switchback led running lights.
But I also want an on/off switch in the circuit.
The blanking plate/grommet on the left the headlight adjuster is the obvious location but I have a problem that I didn't envisage!
I can't get the blank off!
Is it a 'false' blank which is molded with the back plate that will require drilling out or is it a removable plastic grommet that just requires a lot of force to unclip it?
Advice eagerly awaited please.

Thank you for the link.
It doesn't answer my question though.

Ah my switchback thread and yes I want to pop a switch in at some point.

Anyways back to the question, saw a thread somewhere where that blanking plate was drilled to take a second power point.

I think it may be moulded in

That indeed answers my question.
No job is ever as straight forward as you first think it will be.
So much for thinking I can pop off the grommet!
