Title: Wheels
Post by: STX1300man on February 06, 2017, 02:11:01 PM
Does anyone know if any of the wheels are year specific over the 1400's production life (original and upgrade)?

My bike is used all year round (28k of UK miles in the last 3 years) and the wheels are suffering on that awful rough cast centre where the spokes meet the outer part of the wheel.

I'm thinking of powder coating but want to buy some wheels, get them coated and then have the dealer swap them out at service time (I don't have the room or facilities at home). This will avoid considerable time with no bike to ride.

The only changes I think were that some of the newer ones were painted (powder coated).  You can always go to a dealer website and check the part numbers and see if they changed.

The wheels are the same through all the years with the exception of colour. The front wheels from a ZX-14/ZZR-14 will also fit.
