Excellent - how has the remap gone?
Im thinking of going down this route.
I'm interested to hear how you get on with a flash on the later model GTR, I made enquiries a while ago and the specialists hadn't flashed a late model GTR which has a different ECU

Wooks removed the cat ..it came out rear legs 1st ..then a bit if kidney then a bit front paw then a length of tail ... and a bit of what Donald J Trump likes ..pussy ears :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
Bike didn't go any faster but smelt a hell of a lot better :mfr_lol:

Was that before or after the remains of the badger, rabbit and fox was taken out?
I have SiSF's Decel Map in mine with a Remus Hexacone silencer.
Very smooth throttle and gobs more torque right where ya need it.
Air filter change make no difference to power or smoothness.
Ya have to disconnect the Lambda sensors for SiSF's flashes but CATs are still there.

Fox ? What fox ... oh bugga wondered why beagles were lookin funny at the bike . Must have missed that un :mfr_lol:
I have it booked in with JW Motorcycles in Malton.
He did a lot of work on my Hayabusa Big bore and nitros.
On a de cat before I have found that the bike is more responsive, it was best described to me as the bike trying to breath with a mouth full of marshmallows with the cats in.
I agree that the filter will make very little difference, but the present GTR has 2 sets of cats, they need to go along with a ECU flash.

What is it that you will be achieving by making these changes?
Top speed or better acceleration?
I can't quite understand why it needs to be any different.
I am curious as to how you are going to do that as the cats are an integral part of the exhaust manifold.
Yup, gonna have to replace the headers to ditch the CATs.
Some have fitted ZZR1400 headers but then ya need 2 silencers and brackets for the left side, and also need to modify the centrestand.
To achieve what exactly?
Had a power commander fitted to mine ,pipe and kn filter ,then dyno run to suit , it goes quick anough now for a 305 kg bike , that's made for touring , if I wanted more power then I. Would buy the zzr1400 ,, :biker3:
Because I like tinkering
Currently my 2014 GTR1400 has the SISF Mountain Runner flash.Bike is stock standard in terms of exhaust and air filter.
Power/torque from 1500rpm up.
Low down torque and mid range torque is out standing, fuel economy has increased from 5.5ltrs per 100kms. to 4.8ltrs per 100kms that close to ECO mode its not funny.
Engine doesn't have to revved to around 4000rpm to achieve outstanding acceleration now.
Powers up steep hills/mountains easily in a gear or 2 higher due to the increased torque.
Great deceleration on throttle back off.
Smooth gear changes with out drive line snatch even when going on and off throttle.
Cut it out then reweld.Although i think the zx headers have larger downpipes.

Pipe, k&n and remap. All good, all of our riding is 2 up, that's where you really notice the remap, what's a cats?

No No No .... my GTR was lovely just as it was when it came out of the crate :innocent:
My GTR's must have been blessed because their performance was more than adequate and certainly met if not exceeded my expectations as a standard bike. I must confess though I did have an aftermarket top box plate on my second GTR. :whistling:
The cats can be removed from a 16/17 GTR, some work required but it can be done. Soooo much smoother with them removed.
