Congrats !
Prob previous owner was much taller or had some pain in back ...?
On a gtr you have a more sportive sitting, so not same as eg bmw tourbikes.
Good luck !

You will enjoy the GTR-good choice!. As regards the bar risers, I think you will find that it really is very much a personal choice on a 'suck it and see' basis. I found the normal height (i.e. without risers ) ok for most of the time, but just became aware of being  a bit uncomfortable on longer rides, hard to define but I just couldn't get comfy after a certain amount of time on longer faster roads without too many twisties. I sought advice on this site and fitted the 2" risers, it has certainly made riding more comfortable for me and I can still get sporty if the mood takes me!.  I would recommend the risers, but, it really will be a personal thing I think. I am 6'  and 14 stone ( don't do metric as I am very old).
Enjoy the bike, they are really amazing.

As others have said its very much a matter of personal choice, if you like the bike the way it is then leave them on, alternatively its not a big job to remove them, which I'm sure you can do and then try it in 'standard' trim, to see which suites you best
