I was just wondering if there would be any interest in a south east get-together.
What was running through my mind was setting a date somewhere in the near future, perhaps a Sunday lunchtime or afternoon and a venue.
All would be dependent on the weather and cancelled at the last minute if not suitable, but it would be good to meet a few of the chaps on here if it can be arranged.
Would there be anyone interested?
Yes. I would like to see my old bike!
Sounds good to me.
I'll attend if at all possible.
+1
Please remember to avoid the dates of 14th & 15th July 2017 as that is when the National get together takes place in North Yorkshire
I'm thinking more of an imminent date. Something reasonably soon, perhaps over the festive period.
But it's open for debate and suggestions if anyone has any thoughts on where, when, how!
Ace cafe!
We can do anywhere between Xmas & New Years. Ace Cafe is fine by me.
Fine by me.
We getting somewhere!
Tues 27th (Bank Holiday) at the Ace Cafe? Weather permitting obviously.

That sounds perfect.
Could be a possibility, but will my bike get dirty?

What's the consensus on timing chaps?
Mid day?
I could also do the 30th if that works better. Midday sounds fine to me.
Mid day sound about right.
So to confirm then:
Tuesday 27th December at mid day
Venue: The Ace Cafe, NW10 7UD
WEATHER PERMITTING!
Seems like a plan to me.
Midday is good for me. I'll be the one on the GTR

I hope it's not black or we will get confused who is who.

It's ok. The colour of the bike combined with the colour of the helmet should confirm who's who.
I'm relying on my excellent ability of remembering which colour match pot is which once it's on the wall!!
Sounds good.
Weather permitting I'll be there.
May be on the GTR1000 or the 1400GTR.
Will decide on the day
Nah sorry guys ..if it had been spring summer or early autumn we would be up for it but not in the winter ..bit chilly :mfr_lol:

Yes. I managed to uploada few on here but I don't find it very easy!
Looking like a nice sunny day, if somewhat crisp.
I'll be there around 12 noon (traffic permitting) and will bring camera.
Will almost certainly be on the GTR1000 as it has heated grips.
See y'all tomorrow.
Sorry guys. Hard frost and the gritting lorries are out, so I'm staying put. Not much point in getting covered in salt just for the sake of it
So there am I riding in the traffic along the North Circular and I can't find the damm Ace Cafe, I go up and down round and round and gave up after 50 minutes, so back I go to go home and blow me there it is on my right over some waste land, quick about turn and I am in.
Met with some of the lads, had my picture took and chatted with them, already late as her indoors wanted to go' out I decided to hang around and chat, she will have to go out later.
Nice to mee the people there if only for a short time.
what are you like Al, :mfr_lol:
Back home after a fun ride out to meet the peeps at the Ace Cafe.
Decent turnout with six GTR1400s, a ZZR1400, and I was on my GTR1000.
Pics to follow once I get them off my phone.
Was good to meet you all, again in the case of Peter & Margaret and Al.
Hope everyone had a good ride home.

Lost is what I am like, the more I visit London the more I hate it, non stop traffic everywhere even at midday, drivers who know every short cut and don't mind crossing lanes to get there, it's just stress all the time, rapidly coming to the conclusion I just may not go there if possible ever again, well perhaps to get my knighthood but that's all.

Right with you Al , I said that a few years ago and have not returned since and no intention of .
Glad you all had a nice time and safe ride .
Riding in London is tolerable, if you can filter confidently.
Hope you got home OK Al.

Oh I had to filter up to some large roundabout which led me back onto the A40 which was an experience similar to the M25 filtering crap we sometimes do. I have suggested to the group of lads who we go away with to go from Portsmouth from now on, anywhere near this poxy capitol we have should be out of bounds.
If I had my way I would move up north to the Yorkshire area but her indoors wants to stay close to our daughter and grandson.
Good fun. Nice to see the old bike. Barry is keeping it in impeccable condition.
Great to meet some of the guys and girls off here.
Good to see the different mods done by members and the different model specs.
Safe ride home, not too busy or cold.
Cheers and see you again soon........
great that you all met up I'm looking forward to the pictures.
Its many many years since I drove in London, TBH I wont ever do it again
Hi all.
Just to reiterate what's been said.
Wonderful meeting and putting faces and voices to the weird usernames.
Lovely sunny day for a ride, albeit a bit nippy but behind the fairing I couldn't say I noticed the cold. I opted to travel straight through central London on my way there and the North Circular on my way back. Both weren't too bad but a bit of a winding country lane would have been nice.
Interesting conversations as to how we all came about owning our GTRs, although Peter only wanted to talk about tumble dryers and as soon as Big All got there he said goodbye to leave, however we managed to get a picture before he went.
I have a couple of photos on the camera and I'll upload them asap.
Cheers chaps. See you again in the summer perhaps?
Barry
