Put this in the right section now. After great deal of thought and comments on here, we have decided not to do R66 but instead go to Millau next year, after the NW200 in N Ireland. We will be travelling down the East side of France and coming back up the West coast. We have been to France before and will therefore be organising it ourselves.
I remember riding to Millau I sometimes had the feeling being on the R66 esp the last 200 kms before Milau.... Similar roads/views👍🏽
You will pass the Castles of the Loire too... ? Great region for bikers

apparently doing route 66 for 2 or 3 weeks with bike hire is massively expensive . A few have come on here with eye watering quotes from bike hire companys out there

Yes Viper, having looked into it, an escorted 2 week trip from Chicago to LA along the route 66 will cost over £10,000 with spends and air fairs. So we have decided to do Millau instead over a 3 or 4 week period. Last time in France we went down the Loire Valley and will that again.

That's a nearly new GTR for years not a 3 week holiday as I said I would with a lottery win but not at the moment.
