Title: After DEEP Finkin
Post by: Wookie on December 04, 2016, 09:30:14 PM
Which happens a few times during each decade ...WoOk has bit the bullet and bought some rear end canyon cages to protect (a) the luggage and zorst .  And (b) Mrs WoOk just incase the bike goes down and she is stuck on or under it .....
By the way take note on the prioritised risk assessment l :mfr_lol:

Good idea, I have the R&G front bars and when the local numpty reversed his van into me a couple of years ago I had to lay the bike down, nothing apart from the lower side of the bar touched the floor, I was well impressed.

Let's hope you don't actually need to see how good they are.

Yep Alan my sentiments too ..I also have the R&Gs on the front ... and the way I look at it ..cost of front and rear bars ..against the cost of a new zorst pannier front fairings (and as happened on my 09 with a topple over )a whole new screen mechanism ..
Its a no brained really

I have the enterprise ones fitted purchased from across the pond.
I have a problem at home where I cannot store the bike with the panniers on  :censored: so to put the bike in the shed they have to be removed so I also have to remove the frames it's only 2 bolts so no hardship but I find myself riding a lot without panniers unless I know I will need storage.

Also for your information wookie Ant a member on here makes the frames for our bikes
There is a video of him doing the drop test.

I have attached a picture of my baby below showing the enterprise ones front and rear.

Mine went over in Spain last year, fully loaded waiting at automatic gates to hotel car park to open. Right foot down left on peg. Wife turned around, (to the left), on the back to indicate to a van behind us that we were waiting for the gates and before I could get my other foot down we were passed the point of no return  :censored:. The only thing that saved her....and the bike....was that she was trapped under it, so no part of the bike touched down  :sweat drop: very lucky.
Now have the R&G bars fitted.

These were purchased from MC Enterprise across the pond.
Ant a member on here also sells the sets  I hade the fronts and just purchased the rear I think they was around £170 plus import duty and handling fees  :censored: well worth it £300 to £400 well spent IMO I have the similar problem to you I cannot put the bike away with the panniers on so the rear frames are two bolts that hold the foot pegs on easy peasy fronts are on permanently.
Btw the yanks call them canyon cages  :mfr_lol:

Mmm. As much as I want them NOW me finks I may have to wait a while

I've already bought, new cover, replacement screen, and a new pair of boots, more suitable than my Sidi sport boots that seemed to catch and rub on everything

Oh, and 170 squid on my insurance adjustment.

Oh, and I need a bike barn

So much to buy, so little time  :mfr_lol:
