Coming in Jan 2017 to BBC America here in the US.  I might buy a new tv just for it....ultra HD 4k.  I will say that absolutely no one matches British cinematography that I've found.  Can't wait to see it.

Interesting that you say that.  My son-in-law bought one last year and while I was watching it I started to feel ill.  That feeling went away when I stopped watching it.  Not sure what caused it but the picture was fantastic.  I hope that doesn't happen with this one.

Samsung UN55KS8000 (55 inch).  Paid a little more for it but the reviews were good, it was one of the best sellers, and the on-line vendor is based in Virginia.  I've bought things from them in the past and their customer service is top notch.  Got the Directv changed out for a Genie last Friday and upgraded the remote units as well.  While the tech was here he didn't like how the last tech wired from the sat receiver and is getting someone to come in on Tuesday to revamp that.  So the plan is to take the living room Sony LCD to my daughter's room and move her small one to the grandkids room.

When I asked him about the 4k connectivity to the Genie he said don't bother paying extra for that until Directv gets more 4k channels.  Said a new sat is going up next year to handle that.

The TV is so thin that they have an extension box with all the terminals on it so it's not a bugger to get wired.  The TV is wireless and network cable ready so I'll attach it into my wired network and go direct to Netflix and Amazon (hopefully) without going through my DVD player.  It's supposed to arrive this Monday.

I'm thinking not.   I have a Grundig valve Stereo in the basement lab.  I've started collecting valve radios with the intent to recondition them at some point.  Have an old Telefunken console stereo that my dad bought while we were at Upper Heyford.

By the way, the Samsung is magnificent.  I especially like connecting to Netflix and Amazon straight through it.  I have it wired into my home network.

I would love to visit Jim, I've only been to the States once on a 6 day business trip when I visited San Antonio in Texas, about 1985 I think.

The same offer is open to you, it would be great if you could visit, I know other members would  also like to meet you
