Can you get, and if so from where slim panniers for the GTR?
The panniers are slim compared to most bikes due to the tight fit to the bike , bikes with frames are loads wider , my mates Ktm 1290 adventure are massively wide , the gtr's are on par with a fjr , also on the gtr if the mirrors go then so do the panniers , what more could you want , on my Ktm 1050 I just use a 70litre roll bag on the rack you can get loads in one of them , :biker3:
Why would you want slim panniers - just curious

me too ?
Many of the latest model bikes these days have what I call concave panniers which are said to look good, but are practically very poor (I had some on the K1300GTEE I owned)
Jim might know more, but there was a company in the US that provided a service to cut the lids down to a thinner profile.
It obviously reduced capacity, and was done on an exchange basis. However it was not cheap.
I've seen a site across the pond that sells different pannier lids but I can't recall who it was sorry  .
Keep searching it will appear

Because, at times, I can't use my top box and don't need the capacity of full panniers.

Jim knew at one time, but he's becoming quite the forgetful one here lately. I'll ask him to have a look.

Just bare in mind these are not new lids they alter yours and return them cut down and painted so unless you have two sets of panniers you cannot change back
