Title: Beeping sound SORTED AT LAST
Post by: BigAlan on November 11, 2016, 10:55:30 AM
So at the moment my 2011 bike is up on stands with no wheels in the garage, been like this for just over a week, also in the garage is the gas boiler within 6 feet, with me so far, now if you know what a smoke alarm sounds like when it has a flat battery it beeps, well I have a beep coming from somewhere in the garage and I am dammed if I can track it down.

Would our bike beep for any reason? I have attached the optimate to it just to keep the bike battery charged but it still beeps.

Weird.

Rog, that's what I thought but I can't track it down, my heating man is coming round soon so between us we should track down where this regular beeping is coming from.

Getting old is not all it's cracked up to be.

Is there a warning bleeper in the boiler for low water pressure? Could try checking the gauge in the boiler maybe?

Many years ago I heard a 'beeping'.  I had just stopped the car to make a phone call (I said it was many years ago) and heard a beep.  Looked all around and couldn't figure out where it was coming from as it was not very loud, but still there.  Got back in the car and could still hear it with the windows up.  Finally figured out it was the pager ( I said it was many years ago) low battery warning.

The beep is coming from something with a low battery.  Over here it's usually the smoke detector.

The beep is exactly the same as a low battery smoke dectector.

I have spent half an hour in the garage this morning moving stuff around, up steps and everywhere and I can't even pin it down to an area, up the garage loft it's quieter but that's it.

So daughter and hubby coming round as they have better ears because now it's pi**ing me right off.

So four of us in the double garage and three said it was on the left, one on the right, so I moved a lot,of crap in bags from "her indoors bench" to the other side of the garage and the sound moved or so some thought, so in a fit of temper or frustration I emptied her indoors bags on the floor which she said contained curtain hooks and stuff from when our daughter lived here (7 years ago) and guess what fell out onto the floor?????   Two smoke alarms one of which had a battery in it.

Removed battery and hey presto beeping gone.

How many times did I ask what was in the bags of crap on her bench to hear the reply "nothing but rubbish".

Wimmin, anybody want one?

Whilst en - route to Motorcycle Live last time around having stayed with my Mother the night before, I heard a continual buzzing from the boot of the car when stationary and at very low speeds. Thinking perhaps the fuel pump was becoming noisy and might fail I stopped and unlocked the boot, taking the floor mat up and checking the area around the wheel well, battery etc. but although I could hear the noise I could not trace it, so went on. When parking for the show, I could not hear the noise from outside the car so was happy to lock it and leave.

Unloading my overnight bag from the car boot later, I noticed that the same buzzing travelled with me when carrying the bag. Looking inside, I found that my electric toothbrush was turned on!
