Not heard of anyone installing one on a GTR but many of us including me have had a remap of the ECU and have thought this was excellent.

I had mine done after 18 months of ownership at Hilltop Motors in Hinkley Leicestershire and it transformed the bike.

I have a power commander fitted to my 2010 gtr , still had to have it run on a dyno ,for the best results , but I think now that remapping of the ecu does the same job , either way it works well , if you fit a pipe and k and n filter make sure it's done after , do not have it mapped then fit pipe or filter ,

My 2 penned is ..
If it's a new engine ffs DON'T put a pc on it YET .
Let the engine get about 10 or so on it so it's well bedded and the con rods have stretched a bit and polished the top of the bores.
Also summat to think about .
If you put any kind of can on EXCEPT the kwak approved Akrapovic any Warrenty claim on engine damage will be null and void .. same with a free flow air filter .
So be careful ... besides IF you want a good filter with better fine particle entrapment .. go PIPER CROSS it's free flow and like k&n is self serviceable
Hope this helps 😊😊

Agree with above, run the engine in up to around the 10k mark which is nothing for these engines and then consider what you want to do.

I change the engine oil, diff oil and air filter every 4K miles because I am an arse and like it this way, having done 28k now the bike with the remap is simply the best price of kit I have ever had and at 60 years old I have had everything from cruisers to fireblades, this GTR beats the lot.

Enjoy it.

I also tend to agree with Wook.  Although over here they aren't sticklers on after market cans and filters as it pertains to warranty, at least I haven't heard of anything through our forum (zg/gtr).  I'm running an AreaP and a stock filter.  Got the ECU flashed and am quite pleased with it.  My stock can is hanging on hooks in the garage just in case.  Can't believe how much that thing weighs.  Some of our members have used the Power Commanders, especially the ones that removed the flys...

good sound advice,  Akrapovic can is superb but pricey, I love mine.

I wouldn't have thought that having a aftermarket pipe would effect the warranty , as long as it's a name pipe as all the main manufacturers sell bikes now with them fitted or as extras, if you have one fitted as long as it's mapped to work with the bike if it needs to be then if something happend to your engine the pipe could not be used as a reason not to put it right , Kawasaki engines are bulletproof, if you have a BMW well that's different  :mfr_lol: best stick with standard pipe ,  if something goes wrong nowadays with a engine then it's more likely to be a manufacturer fault then anything you have done ,  :biker3:

Nightrider very good point .. however from what I have been able to find out .. its the way the shock wave and back pressure affects the scavenging (not to be confused with 2 stroke scavenging)and valve temp .
On the point if Warrenty even adding electrical accesories CAN void any claim on bikes electric equipment .
So as long as folk are aware of the possible risks to any (although rare) Warrenty claim in the future jog on

I think your right wook. The exhaust that is more free flowing will allow gases out faster hence not allowing a certain amount of back pressure to exist in the cylinder as the next cycle begins. This affects how much air is allowed in to the cylinder ready for the next power stroke. So it could affect the power output of the engine. These amounts are factored into the making of the engine. If you put after market cans on,it could well effect the bikes running. Least thats what the girl who works in the chippy says  :whistling: :whistling:

No power commander listed after 2014.

However I will be taking my 2015 to Dyno jet  soon, so they can do one
