That's not the place to do this as it's only live when the ignition switch is on, the best place to keep the battery topped up is to attach a flying lead such as the one supplied with an optimaye direct to the battery, simply remove the panel and attach it, poke it out of the side and it's sorted.

Many of us here have this to keep the bikes battery nice and charged.

We're a friendly lot here, some mickey takers but everyone has great ideas and are very helpful.

Oh and it's a great bike as well.

Alan

Hi Paul,

I fitted an extra power socket on the left hand side of the dashboard and ran a cable directly to the battery via a fuse. It comes in handy for charging the battery on the bike, and to keep accessories powered up with the ignition off (for short periods of time of course). The one I originally fitted was rubbish and fell apart after 6 months. I have just fitted another and it looks very well made and should last. The wiring is potted at the back of the socket, and the rubber cover looks like it should be waterproof as described. Here's the link to it if anybody needs one.

Cheers,

Mark
