Title: Cigarette socket output
Post by: BigAlan on October 30, 2016, 09:12:24 PM
The fag socket on the right front, what output can I get from it? I know it's 12v but what Amp can I draw? I want to power my go pro via a USB socket and the one I have plus cable does not work and I don't know what is wrong, battery lasts about 2 hours and turns off.

Its protected with a 5amp fuze, I believe, so theoretic maximum is 60 watts.  I've uprated my fuze to 10 amp so that my electric pump works without blowing fuzes and haven't noticed any detriment

I'd be surprised if a GoPro took any thing like 60W

I know it's obvious, but have you checked the fuse? I plugged a portable compressor into mine which instantly blew the fuse. Mine's a 10A, so I repleced it with the same. I believe (and could be wrong) later models have a 5A fuse, but others have "upgraded" with a 10A.

Cheers

Mines a 2012 and the compressor blew the 5amp fuse. I have substituted a 10amp with no problem

Fuse Box 3 fuse 5.  That's the one just forward of the tool tray.  There is a clue on the outside label...
