Title: Keeping the battery topped up
Post by: Busa1400 on October 28, 2016, 05:32:05 PM
Is it possible to attach a trickle charger to the 12volt 'cigarette' lighter in the fairing ?

Has anyone done this?, what charger do you use?

I have just had a Garmin fitted and didn't put the charger wire on the battery and don't want to mess about with it again ?

It is only live with ignition on so no to charing there is a mod that can  be done to make it permanently live . Direct contacts to the battery would be best .

I have an optimate lead attached to the battery terminals and simply connect that and away she goes, most stuff as Charlie says is switched.

I've never bothered with an Optimate.

First reason is because I live in a flat and have no where to plug it in, secondly I rather ride my baby to keep the battery topped up.

Not to bad, tools needed are basic ones plus a warm cup of coffee and hopefully a small cake, then all will be well.

If no power in garage you can use an external solar panel to charge. Marlins sell them.

I like dusk, but generally avoid total dark.  Can't see well enough and in my area deer rule the roads at night.

A fairly good sport up here is night time twatachav. . Best played on an older bike .. coz blood spatter is sooooo unsightly .. 100 points for a kill 75 points for a hospital case and a free go if there only mildly injured

twatachav

must have translation

'twat' terminology for a brainless moron, also (as in this case) do punish someone usually forcibly

Chav ...well click here for explanation

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=chav&oq=chav&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.2584j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

hence twat- a chav

Hope that helps

Oh BTW there is another explanation of Tw*t but I won't explain here      see below
