Or to be more precise, my rear tyre might be, just found a screw firmly embedded, on the surface of the main rubber, not in the tread. Pirelli angel GT's, plenty of tread left on them :censored:
Gtr ur not screwed i had the same thing on my rear tyre n replaced screw with tyre fixplug from puncture repair kit. Rode it for miles after. Assuming your not racing about of course. I usually dont. Iv only just replaced tyre with a new pilot 4 gt. Only cos it needed it. Got rid of my annoying hum at 60-65 mph as well. Whod of thought eh. Guess tyre was out of balance due t wear. Anyway have it repaired properly it should be ok at least mine was and theres plenty on utube to say the same. 👍
Of course its your call at the end of the day. If i get a screw in my new pilot 4 i sure as hell wont be changing it 😯😯

I had a screw into my 2000 mile PR 4 GT rear tyre only two weeks ago, had it professionally plugged and I was told it should last as long as the tyre
£15.00 including a rebalance, I took the wheel out myself
Thanks, will try to sort it tomorrow, how do you rate the pr4's?

I've just had mine put on and the difference is very clear. Holds the road round the twisties very nicely. Rolls into the bends with ease. Good traction in the wet too. Top tyre I think 👍👍

:agree: like Mack says, great tyre and soooo much better than Bridgestone OEM, will have wait and see what life expectancy is, but so far looking good.

Same as OC except mine was a piece of roadstone in my Pilot 4. Took wheel down to local guy who did mushroom type repair, wheel balanced, tenner all in. Research online produced BS stipulations on diameter of hole etc Seems also that Pirelli do allow repairs but other manufacturers don't?

WoOk has used em since the PR3 in incarnations since and can only praise em as a good hi Mel age VERY grippy in the wet ... but like all hoops I found that just chandeing out the rear and leaving a part worn front on is HIDEOUS .. as the front wants to take a slightly different corner track to the new rear .
O.C have you remained with the original fitment sizes or have you gone for the 55 sidewall ?
nah, I retained the original 50 size
I think another member on here fitted 55s before, ......was it Debs...can't remember now
Interestingwhat you observe about renewing the rear and retaining the used front, mine appear to be wearing at about the same rate

Yep i kept my conti max on the front as its like new and they work well together. Mind you my old rear was so squared off it might as well have been a p6 pirelli car tyre :mfr_lol: very twitchy in the twisties. Always nervy but not now the pilot 4 is on. Rolls into the bends very nicely 😬😬
Off to the tyre man tomorrow for him to have a look. if it's BLR'd maybe go for PR4 GT's as a replacement :whistling:
Angel Gts are the way!

Angel Gts are the way!
Got them on now, hopefully he can repair the rear and happy days
Got screwed myself this morning.
First one i've had on a PR3 or 4.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-Sw0yWLZeQhdEhTYjQzTk01eFk/view?usp=drivesdk
M6 25mm long allen screw with a big washer.
Was in the middle of nowhere (Ide Hill, Kent) but the recovery truck found me eventually.
Wheel is now at my local bike shop for a (hopefully) repair.
Otherwise I see a new PR4 (55 profile) in my future.
Lot of punctures on these Michelinn at mo!
No more discussion of screwing starting now.....it's bad Karma.
I imported this piece af Welsh slate in my rear tyre the TPS sensor warned me how quickly it was deflating :censored:.
TPS saved the day for me too. The Red flashing dash light and read out told me all I needed to know
Without TPS things could have been different

You couldn't get that any more central!
Lots of us using PR4s and personally I'm doing 400 miles per week on mine.
In the last 20 years I've had punctures in a Dunlop 701, an Avon Azaro, a Michelin 89X, a Bridgecrap BT-021, an Avon 3D-XM, and now a PR4.
I'm glad you made that point George as I can't accept that PR4 GTs are any more puncture prone than other tyres.
Sorry to hear about the puncture you experienced
BTW have you watched motogp yet

a Michelin 89X
Now they where a killer, shockingly :shit:tyre
Most punctures ever had. Michelinn!
WoOk is in deep thinking mode this morn (doesn't happen often lol) but my theory is .. perhaps with PR4GT having as many sipes etc it may (and I use the word guardedly )that they MAY be more prone to object pick up .
But that's a price we pay for good water dispersal and hi silica content
Thanks guys for the feedback on the 55 sidewall. I kept the last Gtr standard and will most likely do the same with BOB (long story )however all possibility are possible but not always wise

On my GTR1000 I preferred the 89X to the 100X that replaced it.
Was way better than the crossplies it replaced.
Then Pirelli/Metzeler released the Diablo/Z6 and I never looked back.
