Title: Weave or not.
Post by: GTRpilot on October 14, 2016, 04:39:00 PM
When spirited solo riding is the order of the day, (Abroad allegedly), with the screen up, has anyone experienced a weave or start of one.

Abroad with full luggage, top box and screen up I have found a tendency for the bike to weave a little above 130mph.

simple answer.......no.

I think I've heard of others who may have experienced this BUT I think its down to a combination of luggage,  pillion or no pillion, weather conditions and suitably adjusted suspension and/or tyre pressures

:agree: - most stable mount I've ever owned, with standard, Calsci XL and Laminar lip screens fitted.
Only issue I've had with handling is with MAXXIS tyres fitted by DK when I bought it, useless -  :undecided: PR4's soon cured that!

Ye had the weave at speed but only with boxes on. They cause a wind buffeting. Lose the boxes and all good at speed. Its the luggage i think 🤔🤔

When I first got the bike ,and had the bike screen fully up if you gave it some  acceleration it would feel very light at the front end and once or twice went in to a light weave, screen down with the wind on you No problem  , with the screen up it does make the front end feel unstable ,

Never had that problem. However, I've never ridden any distance at speed with the boxes on. The trips I've done up to now I've just had a roll bag on the pillion seat.

My weaves have always been on purpose.

Do BMW's weave? And do you have to pay extra for it?

If they did you would have to pay for the privilege however they don't so no additional charge.
