This should rattle some cages. So allegedly there may be no more gtrs after 2017 and if this is true (i sure hope not ) then the question has to be asked what is your next bike? As ive asked the question ill go first. Ive liked the triumph trophy since it came out a while back so that would be my first to look at and its not a rcycled panza at least 👍😀 Problem is once youve had a gtr your only goin backwards so thats how i can justify the trophy lol. Ideas anyone? :punk:
I think the option is as many members on here have. Is to have more than one bike , I have found I do not want to part with the gtr So have got a lighter adventure bike ,ktm 1050 , best of both worlds , :biker3:
Thats a nice idea but not all can or are allowed lol to own two or more. I was just curious what you guys would change to if you had to. I have two gtrs in my garage as i write this. Sadly only one is mine. Ive been workin on a friends bike. The dreaded cam position sensor o ring and both tps sensor batteries. Both easy jobs but the dismantling eeeesh lol
I'm going to ride my classic vintage gtr as long as the wheels roll. It's a great bike and will remain so. However, should something happen to it, my next one will be a convertible.
A great bike it is jim. Your so lucky you have some awesome roads in the states.
Yeah, but you guys/gal have good scenery as well. Brings me to tears when I see it on British programs over here.
Ye we have some great roads here but nothing like riding past humongous canyons and mountain ranges like the size of the rockies. England is a beautiful country but not the scenery of some of the states :biker3:
On a side note jim youve an 08 like me how many miles yougot on her?
75k or so I think...
Ah more than me. Have you changed anything major on it like drive shaft bearings and such. Who does your tappet checks and adjustment. :biker3:
I'm a Kawasaki man through and through, I've owned and ridden 70s Kawasaki Triples in the past, I cannot see why my current GTR becomes unusable if production of the GTR should cease, so I'll continue to ride it as long as I'm able.
Other makes ? .........Well I've had BMWs, and recently owned a Super Tenere which was a good all round bike but lacked a couple of cylinders
I've always thought the FJR was a good looking bike but its pricey
BTW I've also owned a Versys 1000 and that is a fine machine

Wheel bearings, but they weren't really making any noise. Dealer does my tappet checks and adjusting. Think I've done three of them so far.
When I purchased my 62plate in Jan it only had 6'000 miles on it. Due to my wife being very ill this year and then my accident I have only put 2,000 on it after cancelling a couple of tours. At my advanced age it will last me until I find it too physically demanding, which ain't yet. I will then look for something at the lower end of the size range.
We are starting to rack up decent miles on the GTR blood bikes and they have required very little between services

We have a pair of Trophies on our blood bike fleet. I don't mind them, much more sport
TOURING than
SPORT touring, if you know what I mean, but they have adjustable seat height, and decent under seat storage. Oh and the screen suits me quite well at 6.0 foot tall [ not the screen]
Haha thats more a roof than a screen otherwise lol. O c yea make you right with the fjr it is pretty. My shoulder has a weakness so a more upright bike would suit hence the trophy. The rt is ok but beemers are so damn expensive for everything n ive had an rt before so time to try a different tourer. I had a cb1300 and that had so much torque all through the sadly low rev range.I know it wasnt a tourer but i did see france belgium n germany on it with saddle bags and a padded seat cushion. Did the job and never murmured oh luxembourg too. Redlined 8500 if i remember right but a real punchy bike and light enough to throw it round the twistys👍😃. If i could have the two bikes id have my cb back. Needed a sixth gear i always thought. It was quick untill an r1went past me on his back wheel on the a12 , then it wasnt quick anymore lol (flash g*t) did laugh though. 😀😀
I already have 2 GTRs. :mfr_lol:
If I need more, there are plenty out there, but decent 1000s are getting rarer.
Boomer your 1000 looks in pretty good shape. Which do you prefer riding?

If I am carving the twisties the 1400.
If I am doing distance the 1000.
If it's raining the 1000.
If I want speed the 1400.
Love them both for quite different reasons.
The 1400 is my sportsbike and the 1000 is my tourer, although he does sound evil on the overrun with the new Delkevic silencers. Has a mean stereo crackle
Any pictures of the Delkevics George

Any recordings of the Delkevics ?
Will take some pics shortly. They are a bit dirty and he's not due a clean until December. :mfr_lol:
As for the sound, don't have a way to record the crackle as it happens when I'm caning the :shit: out of him. :punk:
