Just back from a run around North Wales, apart from the showers (Monsoon), it was a good day 😊

For the hot shins wear taller bike boots.

There was a US set of heat blocking panels but don't think they're available any more
I think that Debs also fitted some homemade ones to Baby1.

I wouldn't think the heat would be that bad in the UK.   Leave the screen up about an inch and half from full down.  With it down all the way it blocks the air flow over the fairing.  This air flow provides cooling air down by your shins.  As Boomer stated, I don't think you can get those foam heat panels anymore.  I have some but they would be very pricey..  You could probably come up with something yourself in the way of foam blocks.

Just a thought .. as my previous post was a bit drastic lol hunt around bike breakers or car breakers and see if you can get a hold of the siver backed heat shielding ..from which am sure you could fabricate something suitable
I know that the yammy  FJR  has a fair sized heat shield blanket under the tank .
Hope this info is of some use 😊

BMW riders don't suffer from this as bikes hardly run at all.

I've seen a kit for our tank on ebay..

Mmmm interesting about the insulation  i will check out this type of stuff n give it a go. I have to say my tank does get hot it has made me wonder in the past if its dangerous or not. Though ive got 56k on it and its still kicking so i guess its just a trait of these bikes. Surprised mother kwak didnt put insulation on from scratch as they must know it gets hot from test rides. Hohum 🤔🤔

This was one of the reasons that we had model year 10 and the revised fairing to allow for cooler gentlemans area.......

Haha charlie your right i know but it was a prob with07to09 bikes n im surprised kwaki didnt just put insulation under tank n save an expensive redesign. V odd o well you 10 n onwards guys got a nice redesign anyway  they look real nice for sure.  A pretty bike from all angles. Is there honestly a prettier bike out there at this moment? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

No I don't think so. A beautiful machine.  :punk:

Do you think the 10 model year was the result of our American cousins and their aggressive ambulance chasesing lawyers looking for infertility cases ?

Reading this got me a little concerned. So when I was out on Sunday I checked and after approx. 100 miles my tank didn't feel hot.  The only heat I could feel was around my shins when I was moving.

Lol charlie is it possible a lawyer did a good thing lol ( just kidding all lawyers)Mikey did you have your screen down or up through that hundred miles because the screen affects the wind flow aiming it at your body then down to the tank cooling it or over your body and down toward your upper legs cooling your legs and shins enough to keep m at a nice temp. Is yours a pre 10 model mikey this only really affects pre 10 models with the smaller fairing vents 👍

Screen up most of the time. However, it's a 61 plate so apparently not affected
