Ok, w.t.f. am I on about?
Well during my recent visit to Florida I went and visited Steve, purveyor of the SisF Flash for our ECU.
I am now the happy owner of a super smooth, torquey, GTR that has no throttle snatch and goes like stink.
I had his "Decel Flash" and the difference is remarkable.
Pulls cleanly from below 2000rpm in any gear and in 1st to 3rd pulls like a steamtrain.
This flash is not aimed at top end power, rather smoothness and tractability.
So far this is the best $300 spent on my 1400. :punk:
Well technically it didn't cost 300 bucks as you had to get to Florida, spend money on food and drink and a lot more.
But I know what you mean.
I had mine remapped here in the UK and also are well happy, no snatch throttle and smooooth as my new grandson's rear.
I've been considering a quick flash myself, but just for even more smoothness, spoke to Dynobike, however they arent familiar with the GTR and seemed a bit disinterested, so no decision made

If one flashes. Does it effect your warranty?
Well in my opinion your only putting right what was wrong in the first place as Kawasaki use a standard map throughout Europe.
It actually improves the bike to the extent it's a total pleasure to ride leaving you to concentrate on the riding.
Besides, how would they know?

No but you get a hefty fine and a police record :mfr_lol: Sorry!
Had mine done in the UK, I concur totally

Only if you tell them. There are no outward signs on the bike.
Mine was actually $321 as had to pay Florida sales tax.
Decided to get it done as was headed to FL anyway.
Otherwise you'll have to add shipping both ways to your costs plus possibly getting nobbled for import duty.
Steve did hint that he may have someone in the UK who was doing his Flash for him.
Will ask and let ya know.

On my "to do" list before any serious mileage next year.

Is where I had mine done.
Spot on.

Of course as a modification one would have to notify ones insurance.
would it be wise to discuss with individual insurers a proposed ECU flash before it's done to ascertain if they are prepared to continue providing cover when such a modification is completed, or if a hike in premium should be expected. ?

i reckon so and I'm sure they would charge more!
Doubt if they would understand what you were talking about judging by some of the stupid question's they ask when getting a quote

In that case............. :innocent:
I've always been cautious about declaring the modifications to my bikes, that's because I wouldn't want an insurer to withhold a payment against a claim because I hadn't declared a modification
Yes, I am sceptical about insurers
I told my insurer about the R&G bars, intercom, sat nav and bracket, hugger, radio to work intercom, top box and even the laminar lip and the woman thought I was mad, I insisted they write it all down and this year when I reinsured my bike I asked them to read back to me what I had previously listed.
Alan
Alan, I personally think you were wise to inform your insurers
Email provides a record of your declarations
I was unfortunate a few years back to have a 7 week old bike Suzuki 1250 bandit written off.
The gap insurance only covered the bike although I had the receipts for extras fitted new by the supplier the insurance company Bennett's :censored: would not pay up because the extras satnav and bracket givi panniers and frames screen hugger etc was not genuine Suzuki parts :censored: I ended up having to sue the car driver and his insurance for the extra cash for these extras
Although reported all for the quote I would rather pack up riding than use Bennett's again
:ninja:..... wook only flashes in the warm months .. to much shrinkage in the chilly months ...or are we talking about a nuvver kind of flashing :police:
My insurance is for a 'blanket' amount for accessories. I can increase that but they don't ask what they are. As long as I have receipts for them, that's sufficient.

That's the UK for you ripoff :censored:
Sounds like you guys need to have a revolution. It seems to have worked for us.
We did have a revolution in the 1640's but unfortunately we blew it and invited royal family back!
