Title: What fuse?
Post by: BigAlan on September 01, 2016, 04:57:35 PM
Neither the front or rear accessories leads work and I suspect it blew as I stuffed a usb cable in the cigarette socket, anybody know what fuse it is?

Currently in the Isle of Man on mobile and its pissing down.

Alan

i think there are 3 fuse boxes Alan, one near the rear brake reservoir and the other two either side of the tool box. If you have blown the Accessories fuse it will be easy to see by pulling them one by one, you should have a spare in the fuse box,

Ive ripped this off the ZG/GTR site

The front right accessory outlet, the front left boot accessory wires, and the the rear boot accessory wires are all on the same
5 Amp fuse on the '10 model (I'm told it's the same on later models).  It is in the fuse box just in front of the under seat toolbox and is the fourth fuse down from the open end of the box. It is the only 5 amp fuse in that fuse box. The wiring diagram is incorrect as to it's actual location, as it lists it as being in the 5th position.  It was listed wrong in the '10 service manual as well, at least in the places I checked for it.

just change it to a 10amp , the cable size  is the same as the pre 2010 bike. this topic has come up loads and we always tell them to change to a 10amp, I ran this in my 2010 for 5 years without issue

Grip Heaters. Although the grip heaters have a separate fuse way, their source wiring is shared with the accessory socket.
A 10amp fuse will solve the problem. If you are paranoid about it, just make sure your grip heaters are off when using the socket. They should turn off automatically at low engine RPM though.
