Riding this 3 wheeler really is strange at first.
Is it the 2017 GTR?
Is it the 500cc one ?
Hi Chris
What group do you ride for ?
Did they have a specific reason for choosing a three wheeler ?
I ride for Norfolk SERV, and Moayling rides for Devon freewheelers.
Dont see DFW opting for one of them but we have recently had a WK650 bought for us. Chinese rip off, Pan look alike. But at £3600 on the road it doesn't have to last that long and it rides surprisingly well. Has Kawasaki engine.
Mind you, I have had it moved to a different part of the County. I have a 13 and a 14 plate GTR's in my area.
Great to see a couple more Blood bike riders on the forum. Stay safe guys.
Mo
I volunteered to Cheshire and Merseyside blood bikes, that was last february , When I applied I was contacted by the chairman who said they were always after volunteer riders and he would arrange a check ride, despite promises of a check ride after I applied, and then an invite to an open day FOR a check ride by the chairman, (Which didn't happen), and various other promises nothing has happened and I have had no contact from them despite various E mails.
Not impressed really
I would do it if they just covered the cost of fuel. It would still be cheaper for hospitals than to pay a taxi to do the same job. Until then I won't as I can't afford to..
:agree:
Total respect to those who do do it, but the thought of running around, voluntarily, on some of the busiest roads in the Midlands may cause loss of interest in my most enjoyable past-time!
I appreciate that once signed up you don't have to, but I couldn't work like that and would always be wanting to go! :undecided:
My IAM trainer years ago summed it up......if you don't feel like riding, leave it in the garage!
again though....... to those who do!

Depends who you ride for Debs. Norfolk provide the liveried bike, taxed, insured and fuelled. All we have to do is give our time, however that does mean giving time for fund raising for all those items as well as providing the service. Oh and providing the time to go and collect the bike from the previous rider, so a bit of help from spouses and partners is also needed at times.

Hi
I just started riding for Blood Bikes Manchester covering the Greater Manchester area. I am told that the RT1200s they have have proved too expensive to run and repair. At first I was put off by the MP3 but having ridden it for 2 days on motorway, side road, wet and dry conditions, I am impressed with what it can do, but the suspension is a bit harsh. That said, it does exactly what is required and attracts a lot of attention from other road users (novelty I guess).
They are not everyone's cup of tea but they will do 70mph easily (more I am told). We have had 2 of them since August 2015 and the positive is that you can get 2 bikes and some change for the price of a new RT.
I wouldn't replace the GTR with one though.
Cheers
Chris

I have one of those, great for my 4 mile commute. Costs nothing to park, 60+mpg, 100+mph if needed, very stable, great for wet or greasy roads.
Massive lean angles but will tuck the front if over ambitious.
This is my second one, I only use the GTR for "proper" ride outs or occasionally for commute to blow cobwebs out(of the bike)
Coman.

Was going to ask if it's a bit of fun but............you've covered that in other replies :punk:

Thanks, do you need to live within Greater Manchester? I'm in Cheshire close to the M56 probably 20 mins from Manchester airport.
