Title: Balancer shafts adjustment
Post by: Macskwak on August 25, 2016, 12:24:48 PM
Hi guys
I am at present changing a few things on the bike and while the tupperware was off i noticed the balancer shaft adjusters. Well it was screaming at me to play with it. I know you run engine then crack off ten mill bolt and turn centre shaft with flat blade screwdriver as the end is slotted. Youll see it when you do the job. Soon you will hear a squealing sound remember to turn driver slowly with engine running. As you hear this sound start to back off the driver till it goes then a fraction more and lock off the ten mill bolt. Job done. I noted mine was off by three mill on both adjusters.still have panels off so havent ridden her yet and dont know the result of my handywork. Its supposed to calm vibrations of engine down. Has anyone else adjusted theirs and found a difference at all ? 🤔🤔

Thanks viper. Had a read n seems to work. My lower fairing is going from black to bike colour neutron silver. So panels are all off n not rideable ☹️ Still should look nice when its done 👍😄

Gonna put panels back on bike tomorrow and go out for a run to see how my balance adjustment affected the smoothness of running. Will update on results although mine was only about 3mm out on both and another guys bike was half a turn on one n three quarters on the other and he says about a 45% increase in smoothness. So mine may not seem much smoother. Anyway ill update either way. 👍👍👍

Well bike is smooth after test ride but is it any smoother than before well in truth its hard to tell. I dont think it was out that much in the first place. Well its finely adjusted now so another job out the way i guess.  Has anyone on this forum adjusted theirs at all. 🤔🤔

Been out on bike n it seems smooth  well iv had time to play on bike for a while now so its looking pretty good. Bled clutch n brakes changed bevel box main bearing and front n rear wheel bearings. Painted belly pan n left n right upper fairing panels that house farkle switches. Mine now have satnav and phone charging points and switch for under mirror spot lights. Freed brake bobbins. Painted rear disc gold to match newly painted gold wheels. Painted and plastic coated wings on foot pegs. Greased rear splines n front on drive shaft. Cleaned n painted main stand. Teardrops are now led n i think thats about it  im sure il find something else to do lol bike still looks standard though.
