Stunning! Aperture selection for depth of field used to great effect (please say it wasn't on programme!) Quality mutt and great pics......respect.
lovely pictures. .is that Mac ?
Lovely but should there not be a k16 in background or how about doggy on saddle.

Program Mode? Wash your mouth out with soap and water! :gun_bandana:
I always shoot manual for full control. This was shot (hand held) at 1/25th of a second at f2.8 ISO 320 and then lit with a Rotolight RL48 to separate Mac from the background and really make him pop.

If there was a K16 in the background I'd be in deep trouble, literally if you get my drift. Oh and if you want to do it doggy style on the saddle that's your business you don't need to tell everyone.

:mfr_lol: Best pics I ever took was with an OM-1, technologies good but takes away the "engineering" of a good shot!
Cracking pictures and Mac is handsome, is a working dog or family pet, or both? What breed of Spaniel is he ? would love to have him as a companion to my Joe.
He is a working Springer but lives in the house as family pet also, love him to bits
He's an English Springer Spaniel. I rescued him 8 years ago from a guy who used to use him for shooting purposes. His owner said he was useless at retrieving and didn't want him any longer. He was a bag of nerves when I got him and he was in terrible condition.
He now lives the life of relative luxury and seems a really happy dog. What does your dog do to earn his keep, you say he's a working dog?
I work him on 5 Different shoots in my area. We mainly work in the beaters line flushing the birds forward, but on occasions we do "Picking up". His favourite activity is picking up, he has a great "nose" on him and will find most shot birds and retrieve on land or water. The pictures posted were taken on my mobile phone camera and we were relaxing between drives on a shoot last year.
Unfortunately you do get some nutters who think they can train a gundog, but it is not that easy, you need lots of patience and train with kindness and reward, once trained they are a joy to go out with and a pleasure to watch when they are working at full pace. My Joe is 8 years old now, and lives for going up the farms to do a days work, it really is when he is happiest......on the home front, he is no problem, once fed and watered he settles down by my feet ( or under them if he can) and chills.
Dread to think what sort of Dickhead had Mac :censored: thank goodness you rescued him, he looks fantastic and very content,,,,,well done The Wolf,,,,Top job
I know nothing about photography but those pictures are really nice as is Mac. I have met Joe and he is great.
Nice piccies Steve ... not much more you could do to improve them ... just keep taking them and posting on here for us to look at !
 Thanks all.
As above, some lovely depth of field shots, it really brings out the subject.
As soon as I saw the pics, I almost burst into tears, I love spaniels, they're brilliant dogs.
We lost our sprocker last year at 15 years old, she was still mental right to the end haha
I have loads of pictures of Oscar,
I'm getting familiarised with anew camera (nikon D5500) so at this stage I'm taking pictures in auto mode (yep I know the purist likes manual )
So tomorrow I'll post a couple of pics taken this evening
There's nowt wrong with auto mode, at least with digital technology you can see your results straight away and not have to wait a week for your pics to come through the post lol
Awww I miss 35mm film now as well as Meg, I'am a complete wreck now lol
Lovely pictures as normal mr wolf.
I might put that on my desktop better than a :censored: k16 :whistling:
As promised here's one of Oscar taken last night whilst we were enjoying a glass (or two) of Shiraz, hence I relied on Auto Focus :mfr_lol:
BTW Oscar loves his stick

Over the weekend we visited a local classic vehicle display where I took a few pictures, I was especially impressed with this beautiful DOT, the educated amongst you will know what DOT stands for (googling prohibited) :mfr_lol:

Definitely other than a BMW?
Meet Murphy, the photography may not be up to scratch but I like it
Great photo of Oscar and the grizzly bear cunningly disguised as a Newfoundland! :mfr_lol:
Awwww, stop it with the dog pics lol
How old is Oscar?
Its only a phone pic but this was Meg, if you were doing something in the garden, she would NOT leave you alone, she would bring a toy for you to hide and if you ignored her she would bring another and another and another until they were all there in a pile lol
happy days
