Title: Leather treatment
Post by: UncleBigBad on August 04, 2016, 08:45:36 PM
Hola folks - hope everyone is well.
I've just smeered myself in moisturiser and slid into my leathers which got me thinking - what do people do to keep their leathers soft and supple ?
I was amazed at how much and how quickly the leather soaked up the cream

I use bees wax, nice rub in and leave overnight, then dry cloth polish the next day. Not only keeps them looking good but helps to repel water as well.

Dubbin is not recommended for my Goretex suit  :mfr_lol:

I would recommend this stuff for boots and cant see why it shouldn't be equally good on leather jackets etc

I've made up a big batch of wax, similar to Renapur.  A mix of Beeswax, rapeseed oil and some light massage oil.  All melted together and poured into little pots.  Works a treat at about 10% of the cost of Renapur
