My sat navigation is on a Ram mount on the clutch lever. Doesn't obscure clocks or mirror and means I can prod the screen with left hand whilst keeping t'other hand on the throttle.

Radiator guard looks good, btw.

Cheers

My satnav mounted between bars on RAM ball mount. I still have a clear view of clocks/gauges.

I fitted mine there first, then found I couldn't see it when I fitted the tank bag

Yep under the near side cubbyhole you will find a rubber boot over the wiring in there are two spare bullet connectors wire to theses and it powers on and off with the ignition. There is also two under the seat Do a search on here you will find a write up and pictures

That's how I wired in my garmin easy Peasy I can't recall the bullet sizes I just crimped the opposite ends to the garmin wiring

You'll need to fold the rubber boot back like a cuff, the connectors are obvious but on a short piece of wire.
Black wire with female connector is switched live, black with yellow trace and male connector is earth.
Japanese bullet connectors are 3.9mm

Fitted the sat nav yesterday. it wasn't to bad to do using the connections as suggested

Placed it in a few places before deciding to go with the left handlebar mount. I liked the look of it between the handlebars but didn't like the way you needed to look down to see the screen.

Each to their own I suppose

It was the one that came in the kit, you can buy one direct from Garmin

About your radiator guard.  I fitted a Beowolf one just like that to my 1000 Versys.  It's a good solid unit but I felt that the bike ran hotter,  or at least the fan came on much sooner when in slow traffic.  I wondered if there was too much metal and not enough gap.  Just an opinion of course.  Will be looking for a guard for the GTR but going for a mesh style.

Good thinking JJ....the GTR does run a little warm as standard, so a mesh guard might be the sensible choice. Good luck with whatever you decide to go with.
