3 days have passed, everyone okay? :whistling:
Hearing a bit of whining over here when the Dow dropped 600. Be interesting to see how quick it'll bounce back. Other than that the sun still rose in the east this morning.
You would think the world was coming to an end, by the way some of these children are throwing their toys outta their prams..

We're still in the Euro until late Monday night then Iceland will rule.
Are we going back to pounds, shilling and pence again? I used to like the old half crown and tanner, not keen on the thrupenny bit though.
Alan
World is in shock...
Instead of getting united maybe first time a region/country want a 'divorce' and making life harder...
Even since a new agreement to be special with lot of advantages was already ok....
Strange, but on the continent we only saw and read bout few hard yelling politicians want to go out of EU cause it only cost money and they wanted to give it to health department, what nobody here believed that caus we know what politicians (dont) do... :punk:
Only few people believed it could go wrong, but when i read reactions here i was only one here who said it could go wrong...
Now we hear and read here that many britans are also shocked cause leaving EU and so biggest part of europe too and that probably some things can be changed or will go veeeery slow...
Anyway, hope you can still come over easily, hopefully with your imported bike👍
It will only cost a lot more since the £ dropped enormously and guess it will not be better fast...
Take care
Ps we can come visit much cheaper , thx :punk:

I loved the thrupenny bit! Loved to say it. Loved to have it my hand. Can you still get them?
Stock market did tank and probably will tank some more but it will come back. There's no real reason it did other than just because..
The dust will settle, and all will be well in the camp, at the moment there's lots of foot stamping going on
I like the idea of having close ties with the rest of Europe, but it just seemed as if it has become bloated and as corrupt as uefa.... there's a lot of European politicians making a tidy sum. You can have free trade and a reasonable amount of free movement of labour etc as long as each country has a bit of control over it too, without paying huge sums of money in to prop everyone else up. It either needs the power of Brussels to be slimmed down, or go all out and just have a United States of Europe with one central government..... now that would be a headache to sort out lol.

Maybe thx of what happened, many european politicians now want a newer better europe for the people... Hope they now will open their eyes and listen to the people as well
Definitely..... I think it's a huge wake up call for them and will benefit the people of the other EU countries in the long run.

Yes Debs, that is interesting, very interesting in fact.
Brexit has brought many questions to the minds of many countries involvement with the EU.
And now Blair, Sturgeon and others want to re-think the result, and potentially block Brexit....only because it would expose them for their pocket lining activities :gun_bandana:
Blair is about as safe as a lit candle in a firework factory
Wait for the Chillcott report to come out, Mr Blair may have a few question's to answer, I would prefer it a court appearance though. No doubt he will be coated in Teflon :censored:
Sturgeon is sabre rattling, trying not to be left out of the news about the referendum, I think she is after a quick referendum before the people see the real benefits start to emerge from leaving the EU.
I think they are to far down the line of saying the result must stand to go back and attempt to change it......but I wouldn't trust any of them as far as I could throw them, when their own interest's are at heart :censored:

I'm sure he's not aware of it either.
Dont know if here are some financial people : but after the 'leave' at the EC in France , Uk lost some credibility in world too as expected. Meaning borrowing money will be more expensive for british people. Also borrowing by government will be more expensive...
£ is still going lower, meaning imported goods will be more expensive too. Or going on holidays on the continent...
"S&P Global Ratings cut the U.K.'s top credit grade by two levels after the country voted to leave the European Union last week.
S&P lowered the rating to AA from AAA, citing the risk of a less predictable, stable, and effective policy framework in the U.K. The cut also "reflects the risks of a marked deterioration of external financing conditions" and constitutional issues arising from the majority of voters in Scotland and Northern Ireland having opted to remain in the EU."

If we have these "huge financial reserves" why do we as a country owe £1.7 TRILLION?
Like many I pray that the economy will recover, but I very much doubt it.

I'm certainly not an economist George, and therefore I'm ill equipped to factually answer your question.
But I suspect that the Trillions that the country owes are a different thing to the reserves that the country has, in much the same way as any manufacturing business may owe money in respect of its manufacturing costs, raw materials etc., but still have assets in premises, stock etc, most businesses have trading debts, I think that in respect of a country its what's referred to as GDP ? ....maybe that's a strange comparison but it might provide some sort of explanation.
Any business will have trading debts whilst at the same time owning assets those debts are often greater in a manufacturing base
Perhaps our contributions to the EU have, in the past also contributed to the national debt :whistling:
On the upside, I had breakfast this morning, as usual, walked the dogs and rode my GTR, every cloud......... :smartass:
:listencarefully: will it effect the "Ordinary people" the political elite keep referring to, or just the corporates, banker's, big business's etc? Does anybody know or is it just speculation until / if they pull the trigger on article 50. Bit like the immediate budget after the referendum which would mean increased everything according to Osborne, apparently now it may be in autumn.
One thing I think will happen, we'll have a second referendum :censored:

:agree:
If a second referendum goes the other way will you do two out of three or best of five?
I always thought that if we voted out, there would be an option for genuine concessions that they were too scared to give Cameron when he first asked. It would then be worth another vote if we can keep the good bits (free trade) and lose the bad bits (uncontrolled immigration and closer integration) but it relies on the EU recognising that their days are numbered and salvaging something. However, being practical and pragmatic isn't one of their strengths
If there was to be a second referendum the damage to the economy caused by uncertainty could be catastrophic
Cameron has already said that the result stands and there won't be a 2nd refferendum

The USD is king when it comes to international business.
We as a nation are net importers.
The Sterling / USD rate is the only thing that is important, that is what will control our economy as it will control the retail price of the majority of items we take for granted as we use them in our daily lives.
Decision has been made by the people.
We need to get on and show the world we have the backbone to implement that result with the minimum of delay so allowing the markets to regain confidence and to minimise the damage done by speculators to our quality of life.
The art of good management is to make decisions with the best information available at that time. Then monitor and review.
From what I've seen over recent weeks the nation has had its decision making head mushroomed managed by all sides.
In or out matters not as the 23rd has come and gone the result is known so..................
Why are the inhabitants of The Palace of Westminster not pulling together for the good of our great nation instead of furthering their own career ambitions?
Good points...
Agreed, let's show that as a country we can manage this situation and move forward, we have, as a country, the ability to remain one of the worlds great power houses
It might help if we removed some members from the Palace of Westminster :whistling:

A little late to this thread but I was out on the decking drinking a bottle of Moet to celebrate. I see that we are all still here, the world has not come to an end and sadly there are those throwing teddies all over the place. The people have spoken and we live in a democracy. Thank goodness for those simple pleasures that we all take for granted.
This guy talks a lot of sense and I completely agree with hm.
