Title: GTR 1- FJR 0
Post by: Biggestdog007 on June 01, 2016, 11:40:37 PM
Well i mentioned when i joined the forum that i bought both the GTR and FJR at the same time, i have now decided that the GTR is out in front by a country mile after the first 1000 miles, i am very impressed by the GTR's Performance, Comfort and most of all its handling and i havent even fitted a set of PR4's yet!

I have today traded in the FJR for a 2016 Triumph Explorer XRT, collecting next Friday, never owned a triumph.

The Explorer is a nice bike, and you have two bikes at the opposite ends of the biking spectrum, should be fun....enjoy   :biker3:

I agree that the GTR beats the FJR hands down in terms of handling having owned both. Enjoy your Explorer

Thanks All, i had a 2015 vstrom 1000 which i liked with the exception of the twin engine and was also under powered hopefully the explorer is way better, certainly seems so.

Explorer is a lovely bike, comfy and handles really well, engine sounds a bit agricultural but its got torque by the bucket load (more than the GTR imho, but that could be down to the gearing) and sounds awesome with an after market exhaust, you wont be disappointed.

I miss mine but I love the GTR.

There was a triumph explorer at the Manchester bike show ,it was on its side stand I went and lifted it off the side stand and was shocked by just how heavy it felt , compared to the 800 which was also there ,  :biker3:

I have had the Explorer XRT for a month now, not managed much in the way of mileage due to a house move etc, seems to go like the clappers, i opted for the XRT seems like i paid to much though, thought i was getting a cracking trade in on my FJR, they gave me £10500, but i paid £14795 for the TEX.
