Thanks 👍
Hmmm, sold out at the moment.
Newer FZ6 pillion pegs are a direct replacement.
If you buy new from the dealer order only the individual parts you need, the rubber bit and the alloy bit.
The ball, spring, plate and pin are used from the original peg.

Arrived today, look the business
Hi,
Quick question, was it £6.95 for a pair of pegs or just the one. The ebay pic shows a pair?
After some myself.
Got a pic of them fitted?
Cheers.

For a pair, with fitting kit, but I understand it's just a straight swop for the metal pegs, fitting tomorrow, will post a pic.
These don't fit , the hole for the small spring and ball on the Kawasaki peg is on the inside of the peg, i.e. nearest the bike.
On these pegs it's on the outside of the peg, so when you try and put the peg in the up position, it pops out, also the peg droops down when in position, so back to the drawing board
Sorry , someone said FZ6 pegs fitted but were expensive.
Then I saw those on ebay for nearly naff all.
I have GTR1000 pillion pegs on mine but they are quite bulky and they have been extensively modified.
We have FJR pegs on lowering brackets
Nice solid bit of kit :punk:

Bit of fettling and we're sorted!

Correct on both accounts, but workaround in place overcomes!
Issue 1 - Ball bearing / spring hole.......the OEM peg has two holes for the spring latch, the FZ6 has just one.
By using the original OEM latch plate, with the new peg / spring and ball, all works OK.
Issue 2 - Pivot pin size - replacement peg has 8mm hole an pin, OEM is 6mm.

Options - drill out footrest mount to 8mm - no way back  - turn spacer - no lathe  - make spacer! We can do that!

Bit of 1 mm ally plate sorted that stumbling block!
Issue 3 - Me pegs a tad droopy!
Clearance is larger than OEM, so agree, when mounted on pin, peg droops by 10 - 15 degrees!
Tried supergluing on a piece of 2mm plate, not strong enough, so found some 5mm pan head allen screws, so out with pillar drill and tap set! :hammer:
Enough metal on the replacement peg to drill 4mm hole and tap to 5mm thread.
Cut the screws length down a bit, drop of thread-loc - sorted!

And so to assembly! 6mm s/steel washer added on upper face of peg to remove excess slack

Beauty of the pan head screw is that it allows slight raise or lower of the pillion peg angle if required!
Whether the rubber peg makes a difference or not - time will tell when Jens' on back, but quality fettle time and result!
BTW - that is not the usual motorcycle maintenance furniture in the garage - kitchen chairs temporarily in the garage - replacing laminate floor ...........AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH - any carpenters out there fancy a job in Shropshire? :ohplease:
Faffing and fiddeling is the way to go , well done
