The Kawasaki ones warped again after being replaced under warranty. This time I decided to go for an after market brand, and since I've heard good things about the Chinese ones, decided to take the risk and get some. They can't be any worse than the Kawasaki stock ones which are probably made in China anyway.
I thought I was buying the Ashari ones from eBay, but it transpires they are made by a company called Tarazon (http://www.tarazon.cn/productview.asp?ID=280). I'd never heard of them before, but given that they were well packaged and looked like they had been manufactured correctly, I decided to put them on along with EBC HH pads that I'd purchased.
Still early days, but the initial feedback from these discs is good. There's no pulsing, brakes bite quick, and feel better than the OEM ones. I'll give an update once there's a but more mileage on them, and initial impressions are positive.
Is your bike almost road worthy then for the Belfry?

really ?....good clean ?.... :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
great to hear you will be at the meet Asif, and that the brakes are functioning properly
I am on some original disks which were changed at 1500 miles now done 25k and the refine, I regularly rotate my bobbins and clean the pads and inside the calliper, perhaps this is the secret as I have no complaints at all.
Remember, rotate those bobbins.

If you don't they will warp, pure and simple, I have a nut and bolt which I put through the bobbin, spray brake cleaner all around it and then rotate it with a spanner, sometimes I have to nip throat up but rotating the bobbin release all the crud around it and you will be surprised WA comes out, they must rotate easily enabling the disk to "float".
Some people wedge a Allen key in to rotate them, I prefer my nut and bolt option, 12mm if I remember, it's on the shelf in the garage right now and I will be doing it again this week before the meeting.

The reason that the standard discs warp is because they are crap , never messed about with the bobbings on any of the 50 odd bikes I have had in the last 40 years, got 3 different bikes now and only the gtr has had its discs changed when I got it at 8000m now on 27000 , on Armstrong discs ,and never touched the bobbins, :biker3:

I do my bobbins every month and use the nut and bolt option with a socket on my cordless drill.. Works wonders.
Debs, when you say "it works wonders" what does it actually do to produce a wonder apart from them still doing their proper job?
Please don't do this on the EBC rotors.

That's just it, turning them gets rid of the crud around it and simply enables them to do the job there designed for rather than seize solid and not allow the disk to float.
If nothing else is therapeutic and settles the mind.

I'd rather have a beer. That settles me right down. In fact, I think I'll have one after I get back from steak store.

Steak Store ? ...............do tell more :ohplease:
Just went out and got a nice juicy t-bone steak and will start grilling it in a few minutes. It's at least a three beer steak. A beer to get the grill going. A beer to grill the steak. And then a beer to eat with the steak. Then Scotch later tonight to top it all off. Rode over 300 miles today through VA. Put some flags on my wife's father grave and my mother's. Then went to the family cemetery and put flags on the veterans graves there that didn't have any.
Oh, and to stay on topic. My EBC rotors were marvelous. baby!

Next occasion not too far away now Mo.
Getting this thread back on track ...
I think the rotors are the Arashi ones, just branded differently. At low speeds the braking is spot one - no issues. At high speed there's some pulsing, but nothing I can't get used to, although its a bit disconcerting. I'll see how it goes as everything beds in
Holy thread revival!
Any updates on these discs now some time has passed?
Mine need replacing and am looking at options.
Mine (Arashi) have 31k miles on them and only a hint of a lip.
Longevity is good, bobbins don't need to be cleaned, and braking is as good as always.
Use with good quality HH pads.
