Title: OMG! I actually paid to get it firmer!
Post by: snowy on May 16, 2016, 09:07:28 PM
Suspension, yes it's personal!   :undecided:
Never been happy, always "poke and hope"! Such a personal thing, tyres, load, riding style and the great local councils maintenance strategy all come into effect!   :help:
So, after a work colleague suggested a "K-Tech" set up, which he claimed transformed his street triple, thought I'd give it a go.
http://www.ktechsuspension.com/
So, crackin' ride over to them, near Swadlincote, 15 minutes of measuring / bouncing, fettling and tweaking, yer asked to try a ride and see what you think! :hammer:
WOW! Throw away the user manual and let them have a play! They specialise in set up race / TT / and off-road stuff, told mine was the first GTR they'd played with, but regularly fettle FJR's.
OK, could fit progressive springs, different oil, WP damper, but not into spending loadsa' dosh when who knows what will be the gains.
£ for £ best investment ever on me beast!  Leveled the bike, front end is sooo more responsive and better feedback.
Followed by 150 miles of Derbyshires finest towns and roads, I am amazed at the difference, so is my back!
Great day out, great mod to me beast, and just made the best better IMHO!

£48 including VAT.
For the time it takes them, seems pricey, but they get it to their reference point and then fettle for you post test rides from there if needed.
Their standard setup suited me spot on, and that's on my 2008 old 'un!

Depends on SWMBO if the improved firmness / damping (!) and ride suits her!   :devil2:
Never complained before so we'll see!    :cheesy:
