Title: Worth a change up?
Post by: GTRpilot on May 12, 2016, 04:07:08 PM
From a 2011 model to 2016 new. Local dealer has one coming in, is there any major changes, I'm guessing not.

The new one will be much cleaner than yours, especially in all those awkward, hard to clean places.

Cheers

The 15/16 has a different screen and saddle and I believe the linked brakes and TCS have been tweaked.

But will the cost justify the improvements?

New brake balance
Black trim bars and grab rail
Modified saddle
Lower first gear
Modified screen
Chrome bezel trim to speedo & tacho
Optional topbox changed
Option of mellow pipe

So it burns rubber off the lights real good, while you sit back in luxury of comfort plus saddle enjoying the sound track of your launch safe in the knowledge that the new topbox will stop yer falling off the back  :mfr_lol:

The big question yer have to ask yer self is "which colour?"  :punk:

But would it not be better to buy a k16.  Now that is a real bike combines top quality with top performance. So much better than a GTR and with an extra 2 cylinders. No brainier really.

Had a look at one in my local dealers, neither colour inspired me, but if I had to choose it would be the wishey washey blue colour, my 2011 dark blue is a better colour IMHO. I don't think the tweaks are worth the asking price of £14,500 though . That is for the GT model.

There are often 'deals' to be had, this dealer will always talk to you about a price, and if you have a part exchange they may be competitive on allowance

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAWASAKI-GTR-1400ABS-4-YRS-WARRANTY-WITH-WIGAN-KAWASAKI-at-MCO-/152078519495?hash=item2368960cc7:g:2AEAAOSwhcJWKN-u

I would also suggest a chat with Brian at this dealership

Wouldn't buy another thing from MCO.

TBH I wish I had not bought my 65 plate from them.

Everyone gets an 'bad/unsatisfactory deal from time to time, I have to say that my experiences with MCO where I bought a GTR and a Versys were superb ....speak to Charles at the dealership

Just had one offer, £12999 for a new GTR, will give me £6100 for my 2011 low mileage GTR. I'm thinking I'll keep mine and put some more miles on her.

I replaced the rear tyre pressure sensor on my bike with one from eBay.  The mechanic at MCO didn't charge me anything for pairing the replacement  sensor, so I gave him 20 quid anyway for a few beers. Good service.
