Title: ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS - CLAIMS
Post by: Redrat on May 11, 2016, 10:00:08 PM
I hope the subject in capitals will attract your attention to the situation reported by Boomer in another thread. He has been involved in an accident where the car in front of him was in collision with another coming in the opposite direction. Boomer lost control of his motorcycle whereby he was injured, the bike was damaged but there was no contact with the car in front. This is not the place to comment any further on his reactions but there is photographic evidence of the scene, the female driver and her car. The main issue is the other car failed to stop at the scene and in those circumstances becomes an 'untraceable driver' and falls within the remit of the MOTOR INSURERS BUREAU. We are all aware that sometimes the action of another road user can cause us to overreact and end up on the deck. If that driver stops then there is room for argument as to who was responsible for the accident or indeed apportion blame. In his absence there is a one sided claim without any criticism of reaction or control, if you see where I am coming from, and you need to visit the MIB website to understand the criteria for making a successful claim.

Can we get this moved to General Discussions - I didn't realise I was still on the dark side !! This subject will get complicated with reports to Police and Insurance Companies plus time constraints on reporting.
