If I'm ripped, it's from drinking the medicinal Scotch, not from exercise.  The only exercise I get is from riding the C14.  :mfr_lol:

Sorry Shrek for going off on a tangent.  :whistling:

Can anyone help Shrek, of what the benefits would be if any?

shrek. The flies are like  restrictors in the throttle bodies which strangle the engines performance in the lowish rev range. If you remove them you will have lots of torque low down and right through the rev range.Imo this is how the gtr should have been out of the crate. The downside is the engine could run weak .Ive reseasched this myself and came up with no solid answer. To make sure its running ok you can add a power commander to alter the mixture.Your best bet is to leave the flies in and get the engine remapped either on a rolling road or like I did and sent the ecu off to be mapped.(flashed).They will take care of the flies opening and mixture to suit. also gets rid of the on/off throttle response low down.It will cost you 3 to 400 quid to be done but the results are great.Lots of smooth tourque right thruoght the rev range and easier control when pottering about.Phew. Hope this sheds a bit of light for you.Cheers

I thought Wolf GTR 1 was played with ref butterfly's ?

May be I got it wrong again.  But I do remember a series of photos showing the job being done and a reference to the difficulty of removing the screws retaining the butterfly's .

The comments again if I remember correctly was that it was stronger low down ?  :scooter:

With BMW they remove butterfly's free of charge if you want them removed. All part of their top notch service.

Try Hiltop Garage. Big Alan had very good results from their work on the ECU

i have removed mine.
much much better for it too.

just do it.

it does NOT effect traction control that all still works fine.

i tried to get a straight answer on this forum before removing mine but that's very difficult.

your bike will accelerate faster with them removed.
