:biker3:HI DOES ANYONE KNOW THE BEST WAY TO HARDWIRE A TOM TOM INTO MY 2009 GTR
Well you can pick up an ignition feed from the left hand side under the panel between tank and fairing, there is a large black plastic cup and inside that there will be both a feed and earth wire with bullet connectors.
How you secre te device is up to you but be wary of the odd tea leaf who, mightancy it, or use the Tom Tom fitting kit as I have which allows me to remove it and take it with me.
power can be sourced from the switched accessories supplies either at the front left side inside and just under the top fairing of the bike which can be found inside the large black rubber boot, the cables you need are there but are fairly short, I cant recall the colours but no doubt someone will help me out, or from under the seat locking catch at the rear, but note that both supplies are fiddly to locate and will almost certainly need lengthening
Power can then be run to the Tom Tom mount/charging bracket which will have been included within your kit and should be in the box,
This mount can in turn be attachedc to a Ram Mounting, or Kawasakis own sat nav mounting .
There are a number of posts on here which provide pictures of your mounting position options.
Hope this helps
+1.I have my garmin wired there to.If I remember one wire is black and the other black and yellow. This is a 12 volt feed so make sure your gps will handle 12v wired, Some take 5v which your cradle or cig plug will drop down. :gun_bandana:
Black/yellow is - black is+ early bikes are fused at 10 amp 2010 and after are 5 amp hope this helps you cant plug a tumble dryer into these connections.
Charlie.
thanks everyone
