Title: Annoying flat spot
Post by: Barry7 on May 02, 2016, 10:42:19 AM
I've read through loads of posts and I am a bit confused, so a little bit of help please.

I have 2007 GTR1400 with Remus pipe and K&N filter and it has an annoying flat spot just as you come from throttle off to throttle on which is spoiling the whole riding experience for me at the moment.  So I would like to know the best way to get over this:
1. Remove the flyes (is this likely to resolve the issue)
2. Power commander
3. Remap
4. Combination of 1 & 2 or 1 & 3
5. Is it possible to reset the TPS (throttle position sensor)

Thanks in advance for any advice given.

Has this problem just started or has it developed since the fitting of the Remus and/or K&N filters ?

Sounds to me as if the fuelling has become unbalanced, although I seem to recall someone else complaining of similar issues after fitting a Remus can

Taking the bike to a specialist tuner would/should sort the problem out

No its allways been like it, the can and filter have been on years, but I am fed up with the on off throttle response, so i thought I would try and sort it for good!

try this . Ignition on.Roll throttle to max then roll back off.Do this twice then turn ignition off. Go for a ride. This is how to reset tps. Havent tried myself as bikes ok. Picked it up from another thread. Its worth a try and its free.

Never had a flat spot myself but still I had it on the rolling road at Hilltop Motorcycles for a remap with flies still installed, made the world of difference.

Well what can I say.............this little fix worked a treat! Now the throttle response is super smooth and so much easier to control. A very big thank you, I am back to fully enjoying my bike again!  :biker3:
