Well ?
You had to ask..................didn't yer !
OK here goes
Awoke to sunshine and blue sky's, dry roads. A good to be alive morning.
What a nice day for a :scooter: with friends
It was so nice that as I geared up I put my old Shoei Chips lid on to max out the fresh air feeling of the morning.
For a 10:30 / 11:00 meet I arrived early at 10:12 which allowed me to dry my eyes (open face lid) blow the nose and then check out the lead time and cost of a 7500 mile service on the GTR.
Approx 1 month lead and £400 :whistling:
Colin was next to arrive on his mint 1000 Versys. I do like the new shape of his bike. Then Ant tipped in nearer 11 and demanded to be fed.
For those who've not been to Wheels the site has 2 showrooms. A new one for Honda only and the original one for Aprilia Kawasaki Moto Guzzi MP3 and Suzuki. Above the Honda showroom is a gallery resturant clean tidy wifi projector tv and even food and drinks.
The three of us duly ordered a light weight snack of...............
2 x egg
2 x hash brown
2 x bacon
2 x sausage
2 x fried bread or toast
Black pudding
Mushrooms
Tea or coffee
All for £6.95 each
Colin cancelled his beans and we took our drinks to the table, resting up to enjoy banter and the warm drinks while our meal was freshly cooked.
The meal arrives and disaster strikes as we realise Colin's order has beans with it..................now Ant offered to eat the surplus beans...........the waiter was horror struck and feared for the loss of a Michelin star, Colin was amiable and I said nothing
After a short period of negotiation Colin had a fresh meal with an extra sausage and Ant seemed to of acquired an ex Colin Full Monty foc
After much food banter humour and tech talk Colin suggested we checked the bikes out. Thus we walked down the stairs and straight out of the building crossing the yard to the old showroom totally ignoring the fine display of Honda's ........funny that
Once across the threshold we admired the display of new Kawasaki including the H2 and H2R which with a price tag of £41K swaying in the breeze did not float our Ants boat.
Next up was the Aprilia area where it came to light that my colleges at one time or another had considered the Caponord 1200. A Rally version of that bike displayed then came under micro examination from the three of us, but Colin had the final say with "over the last 2 years there have been 3 new Aprilia dealers come and go in East Anglia ! " Nothing further needed to be said.
Which found us at the Guzzi dept.
Both colleagues seemed hell bent on me getting a.........................
http://uk.motoguzzi.it/motoguzzi/UK/en/moto/custom/Eldorado/Eldorado.html
With such kind words of encouragement for example "we can just see you on that" etc etc.
The used dept had an excellent mix of stock including several GTR and a lone K16 GT. Then onwards to team Suzuki which apart from a mat silver grey finish GSXR 1000 was ignored.
It was commented on several occasions during our toyland wanderings that the new style of mat / silk finish paint on bikes would be a difficult to maintain in an as new clean condition more to the point "how to" do so.
We seem unable to visit without spending a little ££££££. So under Colin's influence, recommendations and guidance Ant purchased a helmet "Lid Lock" bag that looks obscene but appears to work.
After the money spent we wondered outside and noticed the black clouds forming. Good byes were said an Colin headed east away from the weather front at around 14:30
After due cocideration (open face lid) I elected to take a longer route home following Ant part of the way hoping to ride around the impending hail and rain.
As we left Wheels it was 11C. 20 minutes later it was 5.5C and very very wet
All in all a very pleasant day with friends :punk:
The next trip I'm hoping will see us in Bury St Edmunds at Krazy Horse :scooter:
Note: Due to excessive amounts of Breakfast no photographic evidence of this trip are available :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Cruel...................So Cruel :mfr_lol:
excellent report Charlie, we must enrol you onto a photographic course, :mfr_lol:
So a new big Versys could be on your shopping list eh :mfr_lol:
I think you should do independent bike write up and trip reports for a living !!!!..............
Found that fascinating to read and I was there !!!
BTW, who ' dropped one ' at the counter ?? .....I realise now why the staff ' vacated ' for a while from the till :mfr_lol:
Perhaps next time around Krazy Horse then? I went there today on the CB750 (a really lovely 29 miles through forest on "B" roads from here) and as it was unusually quiet, spent my time there briefing the staff on expectations of the forum members when the visit takes place.
As a result of that Liz in the clothing section is ordering more supplies in ready for Ant, who said that he needed some new touring gear yesterday, whilst the kitchen is preparing additional storage space for ingredients to make breakfasts in the vast quantities that will no doubt be demanded.
Finally in response to Ant's last comment, I can really only say not me! I didn't even take the baked beans. However, neither can I say that I noticed any problems at the counter whilst Ant made his purchases, so plainly my observation skills and senses are somewhat lacking in comparison with the others.
