Title: Photobucket
Post by: O.C. on April 12, 2016, 09:26:14 AM
Question 1, does anyone on here use Photobucket for image storage etc.,....I've used it for a good few years and have noticed that it has become very slow (pedestrian) lately, I don't feel inclined to pay extra to eliminate their site adverts (tight Yorkshire Git)  are you experiencing the same issue ?

Question 2, If you don't use Photobucket which site do you use/recommend

Thank very mucho

Save all your images to a separate harddrive. I backup every few weeks. Why pay to store pics on a website? Makes no sense to me.

Rog, I still use Photobucket and I haven't noticed any significant decrease in the speed of uploading, linking etc since day one.

interesting Steve,  it definitely seems to be slowing up, or maybe it's me getting less tolerant and proportionately more grumpy  :mfr_lol:

spot on Debs, I do have a stand alone hard drive, which I back up onto fairly often, maybe not often enough

I use Photobucket as its handy and free  :whistling:

Uploading pictures to many internet websites/forums require a third party host like photobucket rather than direct from a PC.
This forum is not one of them.

Google Photos is free and fast. Works well with iPhone and Android to automatically back up photos. (https://www.google.com/photos/about/)

There's a 15GB limit, but 'High Quality' photos don't count towards this. Extra space costs $2/month for 100GB. (https://www.google.com/settings/storage?hl=en_GB)

Best part is the AI searching. Try 'black motorbike' to see just those pictures with black motorbikes, very clever and saves having to tag everything.
