What is the best bike you have ever owned apart from the GTR of course. For me there are two. Honda CX 500 and I hate to say this BMW R 100/7 a blue 1978 one.
Lol. Should of course say best bike.

You say that now but I reckon you had other things on your mind :mfr_lol:
My best bike (excluding my GTR) must be this one

1200 GS........close
But for smiles on the miles GTR - best by far! :)

lovely
I've owned a GL-500 SilverWing, Kawasaki Voyager XII, C10 and C14. The C14 (GTR) is clearly the best.
Excluding the GTR would be 1978(T) Honda 750/4. Have also had a really nice 400/4 as well.

yes they were nice had a Honda 750 f2
Z250 Scorpion :biker3:
My previous to the GTR was a 1000cc Vstrom. Great all round bike, I commuted/toured/scratched on it. I did just short of 100,000 miles on it, and four years after selling it, it is still going strong.
Scotoiler sorted the chain drive out, the only downside [ and I guess mu lack of cleaning did not help] was the quality of the finish.
I wouldn't say its my best bike, but one I have the most memories of. Sure felt bigger than it looks !
How things have changed.
Kawasaki Z1000 J2, very early 80s

My best bike had to be the GTR closely followed by the K16.

Now now... play nice lol

I also had a CB750F2 but it bored me to tears.
Chopped it in after 2 months for a Z1300/6.
Was my first Kawasaki and wish I still had it.
Will get another one someday.
Best bike I ever owned was Sanji, my first GTR1000.
Still have the engine from her in Otto (my current GTR1000).
Its pretty recent but it was my 2005 Triumph Sprint ST 1050, I had to wait for them to decide to build them in sunset red before I bought one, and I might still have it if I hadn't written it off in Scotland.
Lovely engine, loads of character, exhaust that pops and bangs from the factory, nice riding position (sit in it, not on it) but absolutely shocking headlights!
Still got the colour coded mirrors for it in the spare bedroom though lol
When I read CX500 I nearly sprayed beer all over my iPad!
I rode those as a courier rider in the 80s, and I remember them being completely :censored: :shit:
Opinions differ, I guess
My best bike? Possibly a Z750 I bought brand new in 1984. Some 3 months after I bought it some :censored: wiped me out by doing a right turn in front of me and totalled the bike.
C'est la vie!
Cheers
Paul B.

If you are why do you think that. After all K16 is a nice bike.

The K16 is a great machine and so well equipped with accessories that it feels more like a car than a bike if that makes sense. It virtually rides itself, whereas the GTR has more character and feels more like a bike should feel when you are riding it.
That probably doesn't make much sense to anyone but that's my opinion and you did ask!

Now all I need is a lottery win and get it resprayed to Kawasaki Emerald Green, fit a vintage Krauser fairing, a custom saddle, Krauser panniers and a huge topbox, and I can time travel back to 1984. :D

It may be that the K16 is just so well made that it loses out on some character/involvement and is a bit clinical, whereas the GTR still retains that feel/attachment when you are riding it
And another that pleased / shocked and pleasured greatly - ZX600R, my first hit of doing 70mph........twice.....on the same stretch of road......if you get me drift! :whistling:
