Hi there, I have the Kawasaki GPS Mount which as we all know is very low down and in my opinion a bit of a pain so I have found a solution that works for me I thought I would share with you as it may be of benefit to some of you.
first I fitted a 1 inch ball mount to the Kawasaki plate, then attached an extension.... I may use two extensions I haven't decided yet. Then fit a 1 inch ball to the GPS unit.
One way will obscure the speedo but the speed is more accurate on the GPS anyway. If I used 2 extensions the clocks are as visible.
Loads of possibilities for adjustments with this method.
I had a similar experience with my GPS,
I had my Zumo 660 mounted high on my previous Super Ten, (there's a crossbar provided for that purpose) and it was great, however I couldn't get used to my New 590 being sited high, or low on the Kawasaki mounting, so I purchased a Handy bar from Projektd and mounted the Ram clamp onto it, I then joined the GPS mount and the Ram clamp together.
It gives me plenty options for adjustment and I guess I'll get used to it over time....for now it's ok

But what is the hairy thing on left handlebar?
lol... @ the hairy thing.
O.C any chance of a picture of the RAM clamp, trying to find something to mount my 660 in the location like yours.
Thanks
The Ram mount that fixes to the brake or clutch master cylinder will place it right there. Its a neat and tidy solution
I will look into that mount O.C., always looking for better solutions. Looks more compact & less parts than my solution.
Cheers

:agree: I use that myself.
I even posted a picture of it in the previous thread. People are going to start to think I work for RAM! I don't, btw

It clamps over the existing clamp using the longer bolts that are supplied with it
Many thanks, i like the look of that.
Any chance you could provide a link or some details where we can get one coz it looks like a really good solution.
Cheers.

For GScott and Mark ......here's some pictures of my installation which may help you, I have added insulation tape to the handy mount, the first picture shows the mount un-taped and also the position of the Kawasaki style mount between the bars which was too low for my liking
I originally had the whole set up on the left side handlebar but it obstructed my view of the speedometer which wasn't good, I can live with the Rev counter being partly obscured with the right side fitting

Since altering the mounting position to its current one it's now much easier to see the GPS when riding without diverting my eyes from the road ahead, I do have a Bluetooth helmet link through a Senna SMH 10, this mountin also provides lots of adjustment which is a definite advantage
PRD, here's Herbie, if you are at the meeting in June I will introduce you, gotta watch out though cos he nips yer fingers :mfr_lol:
