Title: Givi 55L top box.
Post by: GTRpilot on March 12, 2016, 08:43:10 PM
Just fitted a Phils farkel monokey rack, how does the Givi  55L topbox look on the GTR, to big? Should I go for the 52L instead?  :whistling:

The case obviously holds plenty in either 53 or 55 Ltr size, it also sits safely on the bike, Gillian likes it as it is in a comfy position as a backrest for her too

Good luck with the preparations

To quote the preverbial, "it ain't what you got, its the way that you use it!"
My Givi Maxia is more than adequate, and the good lady's never complained , plenty big enough........for the back rest and storage that is!

Looks like a Givi Trekker

yes its the trekker, its the shape i find usefull, no curves so i can fit more in & not leave so much air space in it.

On rideouts full face helmet in it & a box next to it with tyre repair, camera charging battery, sd cards, satnav, visor cleaner, disk lock, chain & lock, and still room for lots more.
As i can put a cardboard box next to the helmet everything stays in one place.
I had a givi v46 but the shape leaves a lot to be desired internally, to many curves where space is lost.
cheers.

that looks great on your bike, I kept the smaller Black Trekker that I had on my Super Tenere, after seeing yours I'm going to try it on my GTR, TBH  I had thought that it wouldn't look right ....but it does ,thank you

It's worth mentioning that the lock mechanism on the Trekker is far and away better than the other Givi top boxes, the construction of the boxes is also superior.

Out of interest what size Trekker is yours ?

Its the 58L, I thought it might be a bit big but it looks perfect size compared to the bike.

cheers.
