Title: Possible France Trip for 8 - 10 people
Post by: Ant on March 10, 2016, 11:30:43 PM
I'm thinking of sorting a France trip after the GTR meet for a few people who fancy a tour down to Bordeaux while I've got 2 places down here.

2 days down, 3 - 4 days touring around or just chilling, 2 days back.  I can give more details if enough folk are interested.

I know one person wants to come down for sure, so I thought it maybe a good idea to open it up to a few others, especially for folk who have not sampled the French roads or way of life.

To give you some idea of cost: Approxs....
Tunnel = £80
Fuel = £180
Ibis =£60 2 nights
Booze while down here £ at cost
Food = ?
Accom. while here £10 night per person. ( to help pay for gas and leccy )

Just ping me a PM and i'll pop you on a list ( if I like you ! )  :mfr_lol:

When are you thinking? SWMBO works in a school, so we're limited to school holidays.

I already have a 2 week pass for a trip to Nordkapp around mid-summer; not sure I could get away with another week solo, so it'd have to be a 2-up trip.

Cheers

For 2016 yes OC

No date / month fixed, as its nice down here up until October end, although this year , as with the UK, it was pleasant until end of December.

No problem with 2 up riders, just limited to 8 - 10 people. There's a bar ( 2 nights a week ) and pool ( unheated ) and its very peaceful, so going out on the bike is not essential for everyone. Its not a commercial holiday site, so very peaceful and friendly.

This is the website I've recently done for the site (http://www.laroseblanche.eu/index.html)

Your more than welcome Deb, you can even have your own bedroom !

I think this will happen in either July or late September, to give you some idea.

Van no1 on the website is one for 4 folk ( one double bedroom, large sofa bed,jack and jill bathroom with additional toilet )
The other is our main hol home the will sleep five comfortably. Both air conned.
Lorraine will cook meals with some welcome help if you like.
So all in all a relaxing break with no real time scale, cheap when there especially with fuel at 75p litre !

Bugger !!  :shit:

Back in February we our biking holiday to Brittany and Julie was saying how nice it would be if we met some other like minded couples to ride with.  I wanted to ride further (if France) south this time as never been further than Oradour Sur Vey but Julie decided she wanted to play it safe and go back to Brittany again, this would have suited us as we prefer a base to relax or tour from.  Never mind, I'm sure all who go will have a brilliant time.

Great off Ant, nice one.   :biker3:
