Welcome from North Yorkshire Charlie, there is loads of good advice available to you on here so don't be afraid to ask.

I guess from your question that you are planning to buy a used GTR, if so the only things to check for are that the rear suspension adjustment 'knob' is free and not seized and I would recommend that you road test the bike and make sure there isn't any vibration coming from the front brakes, which might suggest that the front discs are slightly warped, don't be put off by my last remark as this problem isn't severe and doesn't affect every GTR. There have been a few recalls  (about5) since 2008 all of which should have been carried out on your bike, they are all 'smaller' items and definitely not the type to affect the performance of any GTR bike

If the bike(s) you are looking at are fairly new then Kawasaki or extended warranty will take care of any issues

In short the GTR is pretty bomb proof and wont let you down, its a great machine that will put a smile on yer chops every time you ride out

Good luck and keep us informed of where, what and when you plan to buy
