Title: Hi from Dorset
Post by: Biggestdog007 on March 09, 2016, 09:42:16 PM
Hi All

I am awaiting delivery of my 2016 GTR 1400, really cant wait but i have 6 days until delivery, i have also just bought a new FJR1300AE which i collected last week, decided to buy both bikes as i read all of the reviews and it seems that the 2 bikes are so different but offer contrasting styles of riding. I have always been a Kawasaki fan, my last bike was a 2015 ZZR1400 anniversary replica model, really wanted something a little tamer and also more comfy.

would really appreciate any hints/tips and info on any meets around my neck of the woods

thanks again.

Welcome. Obviously the GTR will be the better bike!! Perhaps you can join us at our annual meet in June. It will be interesting to see how you rate both bikes.

Hi

IThe GTR is coming from Preston as Pete offered me £1000 less on trade in for my ZZR, hence the wait for delivery, so i ended up saving £1500 in total compared to buying locally, Bournemouth carried out a service and a few bits for me though on my ZZR.

awww no,

although i love german cars, ive only ever been partial to Jap bikes, that said ive never ridden a GTR or even sat on one, i decided after owning a couple of ZZR's, watching and reading every review out there that the GTR was the bike for me.

Has the latest GtR really improved and in what way?

for me it has definitely improved, the suspension feels more compliant, as yet I haven't made many adjustments to the standard settings but will be doing so from now on.

The bike is much more comfortable with the redesigned seat.

The screen is taller and wider at the top, plus it has the vent which does seem to improve rider comfort

The brakes feel great and that's after coming off a Super Tenere which has very good brakes

My bike is still very new so I'mnot able to assess the bike further ...yet.

Oh ond I love the two tone colour scheme

Kwackers has continuously worked on the bike, improving here and there.  Not enough to say gen3 but as some have said gen2.4..  You know, it's quite serious business to determine the proper colour for the upcoming year.  Meetings must be held, Saki (I do love Saki) has to be requisitioned, Geisha's requested...   And then and only then do they see what paint they have left over from prior years to see what mixture works or not.  We may think this trivial of course, but to them it's quite serious.

:mfr_lol: very good Jim,  hence the RAF Blue option for current model year in the U.K eh Jim, I guess this must have been a few tins left over from 1939-1945    :mfr_lol:
