My 10 year old Hein Gericke suit (Goretex lined) is due for replacement. Fancy something with Goretex pro / Teflon coated so the suit doesn't become waterlogged in a downpour. Narrowed down to Rukka or Halvarsson's, not cheap but if it lasts as long as my HG suit then worth it I think :whistling:
Do yourself a favour and have a look at the Richa Spirit jacket and trousers. Both have C-Change and Nanosphere technology.
I was sceptical when I got mine but the C-Change really does work meaning I can ride in the same gear from a cold morning and then through the day. Also the Nanosphere treatment of the outer shell prevents the problem that most textile jackets have, namely soaking up tons of water (and then dumping it behind your chair on the kitchen floor). The water/dirt just runs off. The added benefit being all the cold water isn't making you cold. Again, not cheap ... but cheaper than Rukka.
Charlie and I have had bad experience with Richa. Both ours leaked.
I have a dainese stradon two piece suit which has been tested in Scottish rain and passed with flying colours ,so can recomend that , got it from motocard in Andorra , full gortex and Italian style , also the jacket is longer at the waist so goes over leather trousers ok , the rukka I tried was to short on the waist ,
Dainese -Dry for me, had mine for a couple of years now and its excellent in all respects, except perhaps for the linings in the pants being too long

Shouldn't be such a short ass then... :mfr_lol:
Rukka is cheaper (£270 cheaper) from certain places abroad, namely Germany, but places over here will price match, reminds me of insurance quotes, rip off Britain???
I use a BMW Atlantis suit (waterproof leather) for touring. This suit also has the ability to keep you warm on cold days and yet cool on warm days. On a trip to France a couple of years ago, I started the day at around -1c in fog and then saw 30c in the afternoon. The suit performed brilliantly, needing only a light jumper for the morning that was removed leaving me in just a Tee shirt for the heat of the afternoon. It is also very flexible and fine for walking around in and, over some four years of use has been completely waterproof.
From my perspective, the real benefit is that there are no layers to remove or add to suit the weather and all of the many pockets are also fully waterproofed.
I think that it was around 1200 pounds when I bought it, however I was given a discount reducing it by 100 pounds or so.
Just bought Halvarsson jeans and jacket for Jen and jeans for me, fit and comfort is best I've ever had!
Try Raceleathers.co.uk, had some quality deals on last years stuff, saved 40%!
Lad there advised me that he supplies Manchester Police riders with Halvarsson kit, supposed to be tougher than cordura, says summat to me!
Fit and comfort is paramount, try on all you can before parting with the beloved spondies!
Anybody tried Dane?

Stop picking on us short arse's
Ok, after much research and a bit of haggling, moto24.co.uk are coming up trumps for the Rukka Armaxion jacket and trousers. They are about £150 cheaper than the best price from a UK seller.
Yes they are based in Germany, but feedback appears very good, I am tempted, but has anyone here had dealings with them?
I am presuming the warranty will be the same.
I have no personal dealings with them but I know of others on the dark side ( UK GSer site ) that have and from my fuzzy memory all was well. Warranty will be the same worldwide but you MUST keep your receipts and paperwork. I have bored everyone on here before about Rukka but I have had both the Armas jacket and trousers for a near weekly commute over the last 7 years and it has NEVER let me down .. I can assure you mate that you get what you pay for and everyone knows it. Of course its hard to shell out lots of hard earned cash for what many see as "just a Jacket" or "another set of trousers" but I wouldn't waste my money on anything else.   Keep us posted and let us all know what you decide.
:goodpost:
Update, motolegends a UK company have price matched the german offer, bless them  and I totally agree, you get what you pay for, and for a good Goretex suit its not going to be cheap whoever you go with. My HG suit has lasted 10 years through all weathers, so if the Rukka kit does the same it's money well spent for peace of mind, so it's Rukka for me, tried on lots of different makes and the Rukka kit with the D30 armour just feels solid.
Thanks to all for advice and comments, much appreciated.
Off on a tangent slightly but still about Goretex.
I have some £150 Head gloves that have a Goretex lining.. Now with these gloves they keep my hand nice and dry, but during the cold months, if it rains and the outer part of the gloves get wet the cold wind on them makes my hands get really cold, even though they are nice and dry..
Does this sort of thing happen with Goretex clothing or is the Goretex on the outside?
I have a Rukka ArmaS and i totaly love it. Actuly bought it in UK as its cheeper then over here in Norway :)
Also have the Rukka Armaxion pants and they are the same quality. Never had riding gear before that don't leak .

On the Rukka goretex pro it's on the outside. My old HG suit has a goretex lining, (not on the outside), but doesn't have that effect in the wet. HTH.
I've had Rukka for 5-6 years.... great stuff, never let me down.... 40,000 miles+ and a crash - jacket is still waterproof.
Rukka also has 5 year manufacturers warranty not many motorcycle kit manufacturers have that! :-)

In fairness......it helps to put the water/wind proof liner in before riding in a downpour :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
Plus my Richa is far warmer than my BMW Street Guard jacket.........but does not breath in the same way..............it must be dead as it doesn't breath at all. :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

It was very wet that day :mfr_lol:
Yes slightly inclement. But I thought jacket was meant to keep water out not in. Lol
