:goodpost:
I got one of these to my work email address this morning. It's a pretty obvious scam so shouldn't catch too many people out.
You would be surprised how many fall for these scams...For instance...
A friend of mine has a PC business. He related to me that he got a call to fix a pc that was exhibiting ransomware. $350 and we'll unlock your pc so that you can get at your data. He asked what happened. She said got a call from Microsoft about viruses on her pc but she said she was smart and did not give out her credit card. Instead she gave them her information from her bank checks...which quite frankly is worse as the scammer could withdraw her money straight from the bank. Thankfully, my buddy was able to cut that off before any real damage to her bank account was done. She also asked my friend to not tell her husband.
Giving out your bank details is no risk whatsoever; you can have mine now if you want. Every time you write a cheque or sign a direct debit or fill in a financial application you give out your account details but scammers can't do anything with them alone. Credit card details are different as they can take your money but, if you have taken reasonable care to keep them private, they are actually taking the credit card company's money :-) This assumes you notice that the money has gone and query it.
I wouldn't even tell a stranger what time of day it was

I bet you don't know what planet you are on most of the time.. :mfr_lol:
Doesn't seem to matter how many times people are told about scams ,that they still fall for them ,
A chap in yesterday's news was rung up and asked for his card details and told them what they wanted to know , £22700 they took all his savings ,bank said your loss not our problem , funny how if you walk into the bank and ask for a large amount in cash they are never to keen to let you have it , but a card can empty the lot on a debit card , the bank should have a limit on what can go out in one go without your say so in person , :biker3:
Banks. Now don't
Get me started on them.................
